Good-hearted dreamer, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), despite being perpetually down on his luck, thinks he’s destined for something big. But even he could never have imagined how “big” when he accepts what appears to be a menial job at a museum of natural history.

During Larry’s watch extraordinary things begin to occur: Mayans, Roman gladiators and cowboys emerge from their diorama to wage epic battles. In his quest for fire, a Neanderthal burns down his own display; Attila the Hun pillages his neighbouring exhibits and a T-Rex reminds everyone why he’s history’s fiercest predator. Amidst the chaos, the only person Larry can turn to for advice is a wax figure of President Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams) who helps our hero harness the bedlam, stop a nefarious plot and save the museum.

Really nice blu-ray transfer. The CGI animals look incredibly lifelike and the nice little animation tricks to cover the diorama characters really stand out in hi-def. The best people in the film are Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan (good Stiller stand-bys) are hilarious as the bickering cowboy and roman legionnaire.

Rated this 1 star for adults BUT 4 stars for kids as long as they are around 10 years old. Excellent special effects, very weak storyline, basic acting. Nothing in it for adults. The wife is still laughing at me (for getting it) not the movie !

This was surprisingly good, funny and entertaining with great effects. Not a huge Stiller fan, but generally a fun movie which doesn't challenge the mind too much. Worth watching.

Average movie - good effects, but really only worth watching as a family movie with 10 year olds. Predictable/seen it 100 times Hollywood plot. Can't beleive they ar making a squeal.
