Lucy Hill (Renée Zellweger) is an ambitious, up and coming executive living in Miami. She loves her shoes, she loves her cars and she loves climbing the corporate ladder. When she is offered a temporary assignment - in the middle of nowhere - to restructure a manufacturing plant, she jumps at the opportunity, knowing that a big promotion is close at hand. What begins as a straight forward job assignment becomes a life changing experience as Lucy discovers greater meaning in her life and most unexpectedly, the man of her dreams (Harry Connick Jr).

slow to start with but does pick up. zellweger fan so enjoyed movie and had a few laughs in the process. some scenes in trailer aren't in the movie but generally an enjoyable movie just to sit down and relax.

A very basic chick/ flix rom/ com. Recommended for "SIMPLE FOLK THAT ARE EASILY PLEASED". What a waste of Renee Zellweger's talent. Holes in the script, which was full of corny cliches, very predictable, wooden acting, no real substance to the story line. Not one for the serious movie buffs. Wife through a pillow at me for my selection & wasting her evening. >

I quite enjoyed this because I've spent time in Minnesota and met people like this! Apart from the one bad accent, it was a nice escape from reality with little thought required. Harry Connick Jnr gorgeous as always.

Found this to be a waste of time. Apart from Renee's involvement with Harry, we don't really find out just why she likes the place so much and what she has done to bring the factory workers on side. It is not explained how she gets the factory going again after sacking the foreman, and it's all a bit too convenient. Renee could've done a lot more with this.

Hmmm, okay I guess. Renee Zellweger could do so much more than these ditzy feel-good roles that she keeps accepting. I think its about time she was given the chance to do something with a bit of substance. This movie was fun, light and easy - another great Friday/Saturday night brain-numbing that's always good after a hard week at work but could have been a bit heavier. Not bad. ;)

Very, very good we both loved it, it had comedy, drama, good storyline, good acting and good music, more than a 'chick flick' and more than a romantic comedy. Would recommend it highly for an enjoyable evenings viewing.

I enjoyed this movie but it's not one that I would ever choose to watch again. It's a light hearted no-brainer. There were a couple of big laughs and a few little ones. The plot was uncomplicated and predictable, the acting was ordinary all round, though I'm not sure about Renee. Does she always look and act a bit weird like that or was that just her character? She may have overdosed on botox. I'll have to watch another of her movies and find out.

Alright comedy that turns stupid around the end. The movie lacks of a real nasty character. It's not a bad movie but it's also far to be a good one. The happy end is simply too much for me.
