Catherine (Fanny Ardant) is an attractive woman with a great career and a seemingly solid marriage to Bernard (Gérard Depardieu), her husband of 25 years. Their lives seem to be going well until Catherine discovers that Bernard is having an affair. Realising that she does not really know her husband or what he really wants, Catherine hires Marlene (Emmanuelle Béart), a beautiful prostitute, to act as Nathalie, a woman who will seduce Bernard and extract answers to the questions that are obsessing her. Instead of a burgeoning relationship between Marlene and Bernard, what begins is a mesmerising relationship between two women. Expecting to be in control of the situation, Catherine meets with Marlene on a regular basis. However, what she learns soon takes her into a world that not only startles her but begins to change her. A woman’s take on the classic love triangle, Nathalie is written and directed by Anne Fontaine with her usual flair and intelligence.

There is a twist at the end, worth viewing till the end.

The movie is a fairly average French thriller with some great actors. It's mainly interesting if you've seen Atom Ergoyan's 'Chloe' which is basically a remake of this movie with a little more moralising thrown in for American audiences. Out of the two I prefer this version.

Husband Bernard was seemingly kept busy by Nathalie. Lots of dialouge which I read in fast forward. I expected a different ending but was surprised by the twist. Probably a bit too long for my liking...but an interesting concept for a film.

I was expecting much more- I guess my biggest problem that the story was not believable from the start and Geard Depardie had enough of films, I did not find his character funny nor embracing

It is a joy just watching these actors: only Daniel Auteuil was missing. I agree that there is no huge mystery, but the story is still really watchable.

Very good, perhaps daring and human. A feeling of sadness at the end, for the human condition.

and a half. Excellent character development, the principals (Fanny Ardant, Gerard Depardieu and Emmanuelle Beart) especially Depardieu - playing a quiet (for a change!) businessman - really are good! I thought, however the story was slightly predictable.

Wasn't too sure about the storyline, however, with such a good cast, decided to rent it. Intriguing with a surprise twist at the end! Give it a go!

Ok. To me it was a bit obvious where it was heading. There has to be an easier way of saving a marriage, but the French have to do it their way, I guess.

A provocative and sexy film. The long conversations throughout the film make you feel like a voyeur. Emmanuelle is sultry as usual.
