A little bit of light fluffy dram-edy with pretty young thing Scarlett Johansson in the lead. It's hard to believe that her character although blessed with intelligence opts for a more physically demanding (and demeaning) job as a nanny to the spoilt terror that is Grayer. Cue supposed hilarious frustration. Also Laura Linney, wow, way to play an unlikable character so convincingly I didn't even like her after her supposed "redemption". Watch it for sassy Alicia Keys and an adorable young Chris Evans in support roles.
Was not at all what we expected. Didn't think it was very comedic. More drama then comedy. We still enjoyed it and thought it an interesting look into Nannying. But nothing special.
was a little dissapointed with Scarlett Johansson's acting in this movie, she is can can do much better, but in the end I did enyoy the move. My kids liked it,,almost a family movie.
Scarlett Johansson plays a suitably attractive, clueless nanny and Laura Linley does a great heartless and similarly clueless mother. Nice enough but pretty predictable.
Light and "heavy" at the same time, i really enjoyed watching this movie.
What is important in life is knowing yourself and what you want, so that you are able to make proper choices..but also on the wrong path you can meet something beautiful that helps you grow.
Scarlett Johansson (brunette in this one) stars as the college graduate who becomes a nanny for the spoilt brat of a rich new york couple in need of therapy.
A couple of girly scenes with balloons and with this animation makes it a movie for kids as well. Not her best movie.
found this movie light watching, thought it would have been better
My daughter reckons it was a good movie :-)
Scarlett and Laura Linney can't save this one from being an underwhelming and unmoving experience. Quite boring in the end.
If you like chick flicks this is one for you, the guy is gorgeous and its a silly film with a few laughs.
Not bad, little silly in parts but good enough to watch.
Light hearted rom-com. One for the girls
A bit of nothing throughout, with a few moments of supposed 'enlightenment' describes this movie. Not painful but definately not enthralling either.
Not too bad.. A rather lame storyline.. But in the end it was worth it to see the Harvard Hottie :D
An easy to follow movie. What surprised me was how touching it was. Acting and script was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
OK family movie, but I wouldn't describe it as a comedy.
was ok i thought, could have been better
Very enjoyable even tho its a chik flik ;-)
Was full of laughs even if it's considered a 'chick' flick. My lady friend certainly enjoyed it.
I loved this movie. I think it is very realistic of how being a Nanny is America can be. Scarlett was a really good actress in this film
Classic coming of age story. I liked the anthropology approach that crept in every now and then. But overall, it was very formulaic and obviously catering to the girl teen market. Curiously though I didn't turn it off.
Scarlett always plays a good role and she does well at being Annie the Nannie - watchable to the end.
Different to what I expected but really quite good. Scarlett was great in character and you couldnt help but feel sorry for her boss and the child. Ending could've been better though.
Family friendly movie with good performances from everyone. It was much better than I thought it would be. The story is predictable but very enjoyable.
Laura Linney plays a good part, nice movie to zone out to.
Good movie. Scarlett Johansson and Laura Linney were very good in there respective roles. Funny at times.
A Very good movie watched it twice.
It was ok, beginning was good, towards the end was great, lost me in the middle
I enjoyed this movie. I liked it because it shows not everything goes as you planned! Also it had the fairy tale ending boy and girl end up together. Great girl movie!
This is rather a good way to spend nearly 2 hours. Scarlett is really natural, the child actor not as annoying as you'd expect and Alicia Keys is wonderful as Scarlett's best friend. Won't set the world on fire but it's quite a good movie.
Loved it - really good movie very enjoyable and probably very typical of families who can afford to palm their kids off - they miss so much
Has some good qualities - worth watching.
Snore. Your average girl in big city, meets boy, has job issues, cliché Disney movie. Not worth watching
I really enjoyed this movie as I'm a Foster Mum. I will highly recomend this to everyone who loves children and romance stories
Great movie, young teenage daughter loved it!!!!
Haven't seen a movie yet where Scarlett Johansson wasn't perfect. Laura Linney also didn't disappoint and a complimentary supporting cast helped cement this as a most enjoyable movie.
A very easy "don't need to think much" movie, which provides enough entertainment for the family. It would certainly put me off becoming a Nanny and would recommend anyone considering this career being a "pushover" job to think twice!
even the relatively good acting couldn't make that script shine. 40 min of utter boredom was all I could take. Maybe it gets better towards the end.
Watched this due to great cast and was in the mood for a predictable movie.
oh dear... what was i thinking...
Mediocre but an OK distraction for 90 minutes.
Unexpectedly funny movie - worth watching
Fun movie for the girls with a few emotional moments. Bit of a message about the society brought up by their nannies. I would recommend for anyone who like Georgia Rule, Devil Wears Prada, Uptown Girls.
Didn't like this much - even though I usually enjoy these types of movies. Too "feel-good" but the actors didn't seem to have the chemistry to back it up. Not as funny as I expected, but ok to kill a few hours.
I thought it was a very nice movie.... slightly boring in places. Scarlett Johannsen is great as always... I especially like how she narates the movie
I was disappointed with this movie, maybe because I was expecting a comedy rather than a drama. Worth a watch....Just.
Very entertaining movie about the role of a nanny in an exclusive New York suburb. It has great features:Mary Poppins umbrella, commentary, romance, heroine, humour and a good ending.
Worth watching. Pretty funny in parts.
a film of the kindness a nanny can bring to a child whos parents couldn't care less.
a bit boring in some parts.
My twelve year old really enjoyed this movie. It is a great family movie. Would recommend watching.
Fantastic, Scarlet Johanson is a very good actress, she should teach Mandy Moore a thing or two.
Finally a hollywood movie with a great story line that makes you really think about life. Unfortunately she shows the rich at their best, kids are just an accessory, most of the time the children think the nanny is their mum
Scarlett Johansson is just the girl for this role ! Interesting story based from the point of view of a nanny and we had the chance to explore the other side of ourselves as well.
Fantastic casting and setting (: It's a film that will warm up your heart, 100% recommended !
More than a rom-com with an awesome cast including the superb Laura Linney. This is an excellent movie with very touching and sonorous meaning.
Not as good as I expected it to be
not what i expected!!!!! but i ended up really enjoying it
Didn't think the role suited Scarlett Johanssen and there was no chemistry between her and the Harvard Hottie!
A good no brainer funny movie
Reasonably entertaining film that may appeal more to the "fairer" sex. Laura Linney stands out in her role as a "New York" wife and mother.
Worth Watching - Nanny with 'Sex In The City' Vibe.
