All time Aussie classic. A must see. Wonderful movie. One of my faves
What a clasic Australian movie. Up there with Pricilla and The Castle.
great! what else is there to say.
One of my all time favourite movies. Fantastic acting, story telling and some wonderful black comedy which still makes me feel uncomfortable at times. "You are wonderful Muriel."
Great movie, though does make you cringe at times. Wonderful social commentary on lots of things that were and are still wrong with Australia. Murial's mum is a movie within a movie the kids are just classic. Packs a lot in, in straight forward Aussie style. If you have a wedding fetish and love Abba then this is a must see. It is unsubtle and bit over the top but enjoyable and quite touching.
Pricilla Queen Of The Desert was more funnier but it was ok.
Great movie, top class acting, favorites Toni Collette ,Bill Hunter, Rachel Griffiths, all world class.Believeable story plot, clever flming of our familiar territory.Well worth seeing again
One of the only australian movies I can remember watching.
Depends on your tastes - very popular movie but I am not a fan and found it hard to stomach.
Found this movie a bit hard to follow at first. Wasn't bad, but don't think I'll watch it again.
Wonderful, bittersweet comedy has a delightfully frumpy Collette in the role that made her famous. "Muriel?s Wedding", together with "Strictly Ballroom", "The Piano" and "The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert", re-established Australian cinema globally in the early-to-mid 1990s, whenceforth it has never looked back. Hunter is a hoot, as is the entire cast. If you?re expecting a typical romantic comedy, you won?t find it here: what you will find is a whole bunch of classic ABBA songs and a fantastic couple of hours? entertainment. Nominated for 11 AFI awards; director Hogan ? who is not the "Dundee" Hogan! ? went on to make the popular "My Best Friend?s Wedding" and "Peter Pan" in Hollywood.
A wonderful film about real people. Toni Collette is just brilliant as the flawed Muriel. Great soundtrack. A must see!
Have to say this is absolutely the best aussie movie ever made. Brilliant performances by Toni Collette, Rachael Griffiths and Bill Hunter.
They don't come much better than this.
