When hard-working TV producer Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams) is fired from a local news program, her career begins to look as bleak as her hapless love life. Stumbling into a job at Daybreak, the last-place national morning news show, Becky decides to revitalize the show by bringing on legendary TV anchor Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford). Unfortunately, Pomeroy refuses to cover morning show staples like celebrity gossip, weather, fashion and crafts - let alone work with his new co-host, Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton), a former beauty queen and long-time morning show personality who is more than happy covering morning "news." As Mike and Colleen clash, first behind the scenes and then on the air, Becky's blossoming love affair with fellow producer, Adam Bennett (Patrick Wilson) begins to unravel - and soon Becky is struggling to save her relationship, her reputation, her job and ultimately, the show itself.

I really enjoyed this one. Boyfriend thought it was quite slow getting into the story but I didn't find the same. Will definitely watch this one again, it's enjoyable and warm and fun.

Loved it. Was a little slow to start but got better as it went on. Some hyterical laughter was had by all, particularly in the weatherman scenes. (You'll know what I mean when you see it!)
All in all a lovely relaxing comedy that left me feeling happy and relaxed.

I chose to watch this movie because I like the actors and was not disappointed. It is lighthearted, crazy, funny with a happy ending. Some may say predictable but I like that I dont have to think too much compared to those movies with a complicated storyline. You need to be getting more sleep to follow those dramas and not have babies waking you whenever.

I liked this only because I love Rachel McAdams, who I think is such a great actress - really natural and funny, and so cute. Other than that it was a bit predictable but still pretty entertaining!

This movie has got a great insight into what I assume daytime tv behind the scenes is like.
Harrison Ford plays the grumpy I don't wanna do this reporter and his co anchor dianne keaton is hilarious and will give anything a go.
Rachel McAdams does a great job as the producer of the show making sure things get done.
If you like light feelgood movies give this one a look.

Absolutely Brilliant. We had to pause it twice in the film we were laughing so hard. And this is coming from someone who usually stand American RomComs. Just a brilliant script, some fantastic acting - and love a movie that can be funny and make a point at the same time.

Watch for McAdams' change of hairstyle which happens at a point where the film picks up a notch - 'tis a pity it occurs 20-25 minutes from the end and that it took 1 hour 20 minutes to get there!

Wonderful movie. A little slow to start, but a great cast and interesting story line (the saving of Daybreak a morning talk show) make it wonderful viewing. Harrison Ford as a morning talk show host (and extremely grumpy at that) is just icing on the cake!

Light, funny and moving. Casting is excellent with Dianne and Harrison as ageing, jaded 'prima donnas' and Rachel as young and keen with enthusiasm to burn. Learning lessons from each other. Jeff pushing Rachel who is pushing everyone else beyond their comfort zone. Could be a metaphor for a good life. Enjoyed it heaps.

A great line up delivering light entertainment for young and old - although it does lean toward 'chick flick' with Rachel McAdams' character very intense, enthusiastic, chatty and full on (like an energiser battery), which might put off the guys!

This film really deserves 3 1/2 stars. The best of it's type for many a year but i may be biased as i really like Rachel McAdams and H Ford. Runs rings around The Ugly Truth which it can sort of be compared to, but is comfortably shy of Broadcast News.

Surprisingly enjoyable. 'If you liked Working Girl and Broadcast News then you'll love...' Even my husband enjoyed this. Nice to see a career girl movie where she doesn't have an epiphany at the end and realise all she really wants is to settle down with a nice fella. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's a bit of a movie cliche. I also liked that the romantic sub-plot stayed nicely in the background. Harrison Ford was a bit clunky but Rachel whatsername was great.

This is a lovely, lovely movie - not an unusual story but presented in a way that makes you feel you've learned something about behind the scenes TV. The main character is the sort of dipsy but clever female Americans like but really done well and Dianne Keaton, who I usually don't care for much, is marvellous. But I really borrowed it because Harrison Ford is in it - he's good, plays a character he's played before but is really upstaged by the two ladies. I enjoyed the movie and so did my husband, so not totally a chick flick.
