Not terrible but not great. Typical run-of-the-mill RomCom although havent seen Jane Fonda in anything for ages, which is part of the reason I selected it. A couple of funy moments, but nothing special.

We found this very good and entertaining. It was good to see that the future daughter-in-law could hold her own. Both Jane Fonda and Jo Lo, were very good.

Great story, full of laughter and tears...well not so many tears but lots of laughter. Jane Fonda still looks sizzling hot in this film, the hottest Monster In Law ever and a replica of many real M_I_L's out there, all trying to take down the new daughter in law.

I love this movie and have watched it numerous amounts of times, not only do you get a perve through the movie at Michael Varton - what a honey - but you get to see how disfunctional a family can be - exactly like yours or the same situation as the man you are trying to win over that is just too close to his mother.
I am a jenifer lopez fan and love watching her in her movies as she grew up in the bronxs which is a poverty area in american - and it shows in her films - she is not the stuck up silver spoon in the mouth actress. And Jane Fonda who can knock a screen idol as she is great and funny in all parts of the movie.
Watch it - you will love it.

I've seen J Lo in far more convincing roles - in this film nothing worked for me. I have to admit, my rating is based on the first 15 minutes, as I was unable to watch any further. The cast appeared plastic, the acting wooden, and the scenes and plot contrived. The characters were irritating, not endearing, and nothing even vaguely amusing occurred. Maybe braver souls could endure it longer, and perhaps it improves later on in the film.

I'm not a "J-Lo" fan and flinched at the idea of viewing this movie, but the lure of seeing Jane Fonda back on flim after her many years of being "aerobic queen" had me sit back in the arm chair ready for anything. I am so glad I did too! Jane Fonda did an award winning performance as the gawd awful mother-in-law. Funny bone material that had me laughing with evil mirth. Jane has aged beautifully and has a comic flair never seen before. She outshines all but Ruby who gives her own slant on being the man-friday with attitude. Ignore J-Lo, it could have been any one of a dozen to fill that role and still disappear into the dark.

Liked all Jennifer Lopaz movies and a bit of a bonus with Jane Fonda as future mother-in-law. Both ladies score a few wins with the odd laugh and finally they agree on a draw, about the same highlight as seeing Venus Beach.

Iloved this movie. My husband loved it. It is so funny. I didn't realise that J.LOW and Jane Fonda could be that funny. The chemistry between these two great actresses, was amazing.They made this movie,(just like Jonny Dep made, "Pirates of the Carribean". Without him, that movie would have been a total flop, but he made it"come alive")!A great story line, I think that most of us could relate to, and have just one great long laugh, through out the entire movie. Great producer, which, also made this a great, funny story.Simply, "Brilliant"!!!!

At the time, watchable for star-power alone, but upon reflection really pretty woeful. The fist-i-cuff scenes between Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez's characters were really hard to watch, I just didn't find much amusing, let alone laugh-out-aloud. Ok, it's a black comedy and the girls were really camping it up, but it didn't work for me. An odd choice for Jane Fonda's re-emergence too. Lopez and Vartan were adequate, but as to the latter's character: I would have given the ring back!
