The combination of a fascimating character and a sensitive actress make this tale come alive in obvious and subltle ways. Positivity and ambition are the heroes of the story. The animations mirror the thoughts and feelings showing how healty minds deal with adversity and disappointment. Enjoy!

I thought this was a good movie, well acted, although I thought the idea of the cartoons coming to life unnecessary. Also, Renee Zellweger's expression seemed sour throughout much of the movie, to the extent that it became annoying by the end of it.l

Enjoyable film, although I thought the ending was a bit abrupt. The concept of animating her characters (e.g. Peter Rabbit et al) was rather cute and could have been expanded. Similar to some other viewers, I was disappointed that there were no subtitiles, especially seeing that this is a film that revolves around conversations.

I did enjoyed watching DVD of Miss Potter, it was funny and homour for kids and adult alike. I was quite dissappointed it did not have English Sub-Title as I have an Hearing Impairment I could not understand/hear clearly what they were saying. So If you can send me one with Sub-Tile I will definetly rent it out again.

Delightful period piece with the affluent Miss Potter's spinster life taking a turn not really accepted at the time for ladies whose only ambition should be to marry. Scenery of the lakes district is beautiful. Renee is surprisingly good as an English rose. Ewan McGregor is enchanting.

Renee as usual is a brillant actress who plays her characters so convincingly that you believe she is the person. Ewan is a gorgeous man who plays his character in a very sensitive way. Renee and Ewan just have this chemistry on screen. I just loved this movie over all and the emotion it stirred. Who could not love Beatrix Potter stories and her life loving animals.

Ok. Interesting to find out who she was as I had the books as a child. Rene is always a bit stiff in these roles - in fact all roles. There are many British actors who would have done a much better job.

An enjoyable film for any Potter fan. One thing that jarred was that Ewan's character disappears from screen, and we are only later given an excuse why. A little foreshadowing wouldn't go astray.

Thoroughly entertaining film about the celebrated children's books author. The film is gorgeously shot and well acted. The animations on paper of Beatrix's characters such as Peter Rabbit, Gemima Puddleduck and others, are seemless and add to the beauty of the story. Somewhat predictable and perhaps a little quick? Definitely worth a watch, though, for young and old. It shows what a wonderful human being Beatrix Potter was, as well as being a celebrated author.

Thought this might be a slightly boring movie but was very pleasantly surprised - even my husband quite enjoyed it! I managed to overlook Renee Zellweger's annoying expressions and mannerisms to be entertained by a delightfully genteel (no swearing, nudity, sex or violence!) re-enactment of the life of Beatrix Potter. I was previously under the impression that she was a mild-mannered spinster but discovered that wasn't the case at all. A wonderful supporting cast - I didn't even recognise Ewan McGregor as the charming and supportive suitor. Highly recommended.

A most moving and wonderful portrait of a remarkable woman done with love and dedication. Scenes of her childhood are seamlessly interwoven with those of her at work drawing and communing with her animal characters, which delightfully come alive at odd moments. A movie made for adults but quite suitable for children, with some stunning shots of the Lake District and of Yew Tree Farm, which the successful author eventually bought, and with a soundtrack of music composed by Nigel Westlake creating just the right atmosphere.

Another brilliant performance by Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. I have always been interested in Beatrix Potter and visited Hill Top farm as a child. Her life is fascinating, her drive to succeed in a time when this wasn't socially acceptable is commendable. I was concerned that there might be too much twee animation, but the balance is just right. The scenes in the Lake District are great and it is wonderful to know that due to this woman's efforts to produce child sized books in colour, she was able to gain the funds to save much of the Lake District's beauty. This is a costume drama, but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed the fight by one woman to build a career in children's literature.

In spite of my appreciation of the legacy that Beatrix Potter has left in her art work and stories, I couldn't watch much of this movie because of Renee Zellweigger's incessant Cheshire cat type smile. Some years ago I had the job of illustrating a book 'in the style of' Beatrix Potter and got to know a little bit about her as a result of my research. So, I was interested to see what Renee Zelwegger did with the role. As always, she nails the accent, but I couldn't help feeling she was doing a 'Bridget Jones in Victorian costume' at times. Although it was an interesting script, nothing was said of the fact that some of Potter's stories have a slightly sadistic tone, which reflect not only the attitudes of the era in which she lived (and possibly still persist?) but quite possibly her own: Tabitha Twitchet shuts the kittens in a cupboard for being naughty: a hunter shoots off the tail and whiskers of 'the bad rabbit': Mr Bunny beats Benjamin with a 'switch' ... all not only in the text but also illustrated. I think it might have made the character more believable if this could have been touched on in some way. Difficult to do in 2 hours, but possible. The inclusion of some lovely animation, composited very cleverly into the live action, was a very nice touch...but for someone who loves animation as I do, I felt it was a shame there wasn't more. That aside, the performances were all good and it was a touching love story, with some beautiful locations, topped off with some very informative Extras.

This was a beautiful movie and portrayed 'Miss Potter' and her era just as I have imagined them. The animations were very appropriate, and though there were some sad moments, this movie was well worth watching.

a lovely little movie, I knew nothing about her personal story until this movie. It was sad but had a good ending. She was a wonderful person as well as a great story writer. Thank god someone had faith to print her stories or we never would know them.

I loved this movie. I think I am really becoming a Ewan McGregor fan. He's so likeable. The movie was lovely, and the scenery of the Lake District is beautiful countryside. Someone who knows a lot more about B. Potter than I do said the story is not very accurate, but since I don't know the true story, I thought this one very enjoyable, though obviously sad in places. Interesting fact that The B. Potter books are the best selling children's stores of al time too! Go Peter Rabbit!!!

It cannot be said that Renee Zellweger does a mean English accent. This movie finished short of telling a really compelling story. Visual the film is a delight and Ewan McGregor does his part as the leading man again. Even nice to hear him sing again.

Whilst Miss Potter may have had an unhappy childhood/adolesence/early adulthood, she certainly made up for it with her work and made millions of children very happy indeed.
