One of the best insights into Jewish/American life I have seen. The facial close ups realy told the story. Fantastic acting.

Apparently wearing a lot of makeup and changing your hairdo will improve your life. Other than this inspirational message, a nice movie for a rainy day with some pretty good performances from the actors.

Order this after reading all the reviews, but the movie did nothing for us. It was a very weak romantic/comedy. Streisand and Bridges did not gel as a screen couple, overall a very corny effort from all concerned.

A great movie & lots of fun. Jeff Bridges was excellent as the droopy-drawers geek & Babs really dressed down (and then some!) And didn't she look amazing when she dressed up. Of course she is a wonderful singer, but shows her wide range of talent as actor, director & even producer, as she did in "Prince of Tides", another top film.

Barbra Steisand is a wonder - she produced, directed and starred in this, and doesn't hesitate to look like a dag if the part calls for it (as in Yentl), but I hate seeing her looking so stodgy and it's a relief when she scrubs up and turns glam. I'm a sucker for Jeff Bridges, too.

Not Too Bad, But I Think You Need To Be A Fan Of Streisand To Take A Real Liking To This Movie.
