This reality fly on the wall style film follows the explotis of the newly appointed England Soccer Team Coach, Mike Bassett. The script is very well written and often hilarious as charactertures of past and presnt players are grossly exagerted in entertaining fashion. Ricky Tomlinson of Royale Family fame plays the beleagured coach who has to deal with the players, a disloyal assistant and dim-witted backroom as well as stare his main critics, the Tabloid Media, direct in the face. Tomlinson really excels in this role and you can't help but feel sorry for this hapless sole. If you like soccer and enjoy a good laugh, be sure to watch this film.
