Lenny (Woody Allen) is trapped in a bad marriage to high-strung art dealer Amanda (Helena Bonham Carter), but he finds solace in his relationship with his adopted young son. Indeed, he grows so fond of the boy that he decides to track down the boy's real mother, expecting to discover a brilliant professional. Instead, he finds Linda (Mira Sorvino), a ditzy sex worker who mingles casual vulgarity with disarming innocence. Despite his initial disillusionment, Lenny soon develops a fondness for Linda and decides to play matchmaker, setting her up with a handsome young boxer (Michael Rapaport) who is equally good-hearted and scatterbrained.

Not interesting (to me) in the slightest. (What do I care about whose child it is, who is sleeping with who exactly, etc.) So boring! Two stars at most! Maybe later Woody Allen's films are better? Or earlier? Not sure; avoid unless you do like chick flick/ soapy sort of trivial films like this one... (or Maybe I am not "middle class" enough for Woody Allen's movies? Maybe I am too much on a bohemian side of things...)

The girl is really true, honest, flawed, and it is the dilemma for the man who is looking for ideals. A Woody Allen revisiting of a Classical Greek story, tinged with the American way of dealing with sex and morality. In the end it is a middle class story about happiness.
