Savagely brilliant. Surgically graphic...Clive Barkers short story manifested as a full length feature film thrill ride. Awesome performance by Bradley Cooper... Truly nightmarish...Very Kool.

I couldn't tell if this film was intentionally cheesy - like Piranha 3D - or if it actually took itself seriously. Worth hiring if you're drinking with friends and want to laugh at something ridiculously over the top, but not much else.

This is an excellant Clive barker story and come up to Hellraiser 1's standard but only just falls short of 5 stars. A photographer gets a new job but has to impress his new boss by taking photos of something powerful. He succeeds in snapping a mugging of a model but finds himself drawn to a strange busnessman who boards a after midnight train where people board but are never seen again. The acting is well done by all esp. Vince who plays the villian with menance and the hero's are likeable and encourage the viewer to side with them. The direction packs in some great gory action and some chills but goes off the rails at the end when it paints itself into a cornor and resorts to sillyness. Anyone who gets sick or the faint of heart for blood should aviod this as its a wall to wall gorefest and its downright nasty in places. There was one scene I hid behind my fingers and Im not usually like that as I enjoy this sort of thing except oddly for fingernails and teeth which makes me quasy. The ending is downright strange but left open for a sequel which would be welcome. Horror fans should enjoy and its def worth a rental despite the odd ending.

I thought this was better than expected but did find it was let down by the ending. No explanation etc - just 'accept unquestioningly' - a shame as it had been quite good up till then. . . ..

Interesting, and a good "Meaty" story line. Haw! Haw!! I wonder if the Real life subway travellers on the New York subways now keep an eye on who is behind them, not that you did not always have to anyway. The Undead sort of dumbed the flick down though. Nice gore, and loved the nice shiny murder weapon,a new touch.

Like many American horror films made by Asian directors (e.g. The Grudge, Shutter), this takes itself far too seriously without the slightest hint of wit of humour. We get characters who trip over whenever they try and run away (this happens at least three times), people shouting "Nooooooooooo!" a lot (seriously, does anyone do that in real life?) and a completely illogical plot (a photographer follows someone who he thinks may be a supernatural serial killer - without any form of protection or means of defending himself?). Some will like it for the blood and gore, but even that gets a bit tedious in the end.

This is one of Clive Barker's most disturbing stories and it delivers. Of course, he cannot add the subtle psychological shifts of the main character directly but I found it gripping, of course gory and I LOVED the ending. It may be bleak but if you are a fan of the writer and am not scared of an ending that could disturb I highly recommend.......

A gruesome, blood thirsty movie, not the kind I normally watch. The ending kind of threw me a bit. Wasn't really expecting aliens as nothing was mentioned about them earlier in the film. The extras are interesting, I probably enjoyed them more than the actual movie.

I loved this film. You can tell this is a Ryuhei Kitamura film, from it's hyper visual pace with some of the coolest cinematography I've seen since his other work on films like Azumi. A sweeping 360 camera pan in and ouside of a train car while it is hurtling through a tunnel in the middle of a fight was absolutely amazing. Very dark and incredibly gory. Also some of the most original death sequences I've seen in a horror movie in a long time. Avoid if you are squeamish!

A superb horror film, with generous splatterings of blood and gore which will surely satisfy fans of the genre. Stylishly directed with some very strong performances. Probablly the best adaptation of Clive Barker's work I've seen.

Okay so you know pretty early on this one is not oriented around the real world. So, that done, it's a good film. The best part is Bradley Cooper (of course!), however it does end a bit like an X Files episode. Definitely not for the weak of stomach (even I had to cover my face with a cushion in one scene) and definitely not for anyone under the age of 18!

Wow the cinematograhy was excellent and I've never seen murders filmed that way, very gory. The first 45 minutes are excellent and deserves a 4 stars. Made me thought of the way De palma was filming in the beginning of his career. I also thought of Cronenberg while watching. Indeed an excellent first 45 minutes and then...what the hell happened! The last 45 minutes turn into a non sense, with creatures we know nothing, my gosh what a disappointment. Could have been excellent! The end is so silly.

Hmmm, it was OK. Not what i was expecting it to be. Yes its was as horrific and as gory as i hoped but the story just didn't go anywhere. It was a bit of a let down as are most Clive Barker adaptations. Some chilling scenes though, i enjoyed it while watching, but the more i thought about it afterwards the sillier it became. I gave it 2/5.
