Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) wears expensive, tailored suits, drives a late model Jaguar sedan, but lives in cheap, anonymous motels, paying his way with thick wads of cash. Although he looks like a successful businessman, his only work is the pursuit of vengeance: tracking and punishing the man who raped and murdered his wife. The difficulty of locating his wife's killer is compounded by the fact that Leonard suffers from a rare, untreatable form of memory loss. Although he can recall details of life before his "accident" Leonard can't remember what happened fifteen minutes ago, where he is, where he's going, or why.

I love movies that don't treat the audience as idiots and this in one of them. Powerful story. Confusing at the beginning but that's part of the fun. Great acting by Guy. Surprise ending. Enjoyed it as much watching it a second time to pick up the subtle clues. Not sure why this movie isn't more well known. It really is awesome and I highly recommend it.

Currently my favourite film of all time. It never fails to impress, especially the sureness of the direction and the beauty of the film as it keeps you wondering. Multiple viewings only confirm its greatness!

A movie that keeps you on your toes, great plot and twists. Guy Pearce plays his character well.

I enjoyed this movie; but I am sure not many will. Very interesting story line; but done to death. If you like "Life on Mars" you will love this.

This movie sure keeps your mind ticking. Guy Pearce is great in the role and I guess you could almost say it's like a black "Groundhog Day".

This is a masterpiece of cleverly scripted disorientation, and usually seems to separate the "popcorn" movie-sheep from the film-lover who can appreciate a work that demands thoughtful engagement. Beginning at the end and progressing into the past, Memento is a reverse-narrative that's sure to create some resonant memories.

You won't want to have short term memory loss with this movie other wise you will completely loose the plot - which incidently revolves around short term memory loss. Good luck if you can keep track of the forward and backward or was it sideways, flashes.

Unlike most modern films this challenges the intellect, but if you keep your wits about you you're rewarded with a truly novel experience and excellent acting from Guy Pearce.

Another 'so good I bought it' movie. Carrie-Anne Moss is gorgeous and her character devious, laying the foundations for plot twist. Guy Pearce's second best film. I - unlike many of the (above?) reviewers - do not want to watch this in chronological order, it's just fine like it is.

Great script, great cast. Very interesting having the story told backwards in segments. Not one to watch if you are feeling tired or just don't want to have to think about it. Definitely makes more sense when you watch it for a second or third time.

One of my all time favourite movies. Definitely need to be on the ball when watching it! Don't judge it until you've seen it at least twice.

It may not have worked so well if told in chronological order - as it is, this is SUCH a good film!

I would love to watch this in chronological sequence because this is the third time I have viewed it and I was certain of the story last time. This is pulp fiction without the crap.

A bit of a frustrating movie.Good acting and it certainly challenges the viewer to concentrate to work out the time line but I was none the wiser at the end of the film as to what had happened.

Definitely not your typical Saturday Night veg out movie. Better on the big screen, or at the very least somewhere with no distractions. Heavy going watching it, but well worth the effort. Guy Pearce & Christopher Nolan both should've got an Academy Award for this performance. Strong MA rating.
