Rivetting drama/psycho thriller but the ending is rubbish! I thought the performances were excellent, I was engrossed all the way through, expecting some cataclysmic ending, but no, it ended with an unenlightening whimper. My husband didn't like the movie and was very underwhelmed! The characters tend to mumble/whisper a lot, which was annoying. As an aside, the other movie we watched this weekend (The Sessions - 10/10!) also starred John Hawkes - what an actor, you could not get two more different roles - he is one of the best character actors out there, incredibly talented actor.
pathetic fell asleep best rest in days
What a shocker - slow as a wet week; then no ending - not worth the film it was recorded on in our opinion. Steve
The movie did not have an ending; seems to be unfinished and needs a continuation
Interesting subject- cult leaders and their brain-washed members. This could have been a terrific movie. It may have been better on the big screen. During some of the dark scenes (and there wer a lot of them) it was difficult to pick out who was who and with the flashing back and forward it became a little difficult to follow. Performances were good but, overall, movie just missed out on anothe star..
A gem. Haven't seen such a good central female role in a long time; the movie only has 3–4 main characters. And Olson (!?) performed excellently. The movie is also well shot. Unknown director, unknown actress. And a unique subject matter, which is creepy, and several hours after, still haunting. 5/5.
