great footage, interesting info doco style, but i got up and did things around the house while it was on and came back to it cos it was very slow
March Of The Penguins is a superb film, the only bother with it was, like To Kill a Mockingbird I had to wash the playing surface with detergent to enable it to play right through without difficulty.
Lovely movie. A must watch. Although a bit slow in parts.
lovely movie, about nature and the qualities we all like to have, endurance, love, caring of parents, going through hardships for our mates....
If animals can have these qualities instinctively why cant we?
Sad the disk kept on freezing... (no pun intended) I missed the end....
makes me want to cry, it's amazing there are any penguins left in the world, beautiful story
Somewhat disappointing and very dejavue, nothing I hadnt seen before from the likes of David Attenborough. Long and drawn out. Even Morgan Freeman couldnt bring some life into it.
Poignant, fragile ecosystem , harsh environment, filmed with sensitivity
Good if you like you're documentaries. It's absolutely beautifully captured and Morgan Freeman telling the story seems perfect. Probably best watched in companion with 'Happy Feet'. Otherwise it's not all that exciting, though you do appreciate these great animals. Watch it if you like penguins.
Fabulous documentary. Highly recommended. Absolute must-see.
An excellent interesting doco about penguins. Good for all ages. Even 5year olds should enjoy this very well done.
Beautifully filmed. A real testament to the craft of filmmaking and the survival of the emperor penguin.
This was amazing! The footage would have been incredible to obtain. The Emporor Penguin's have a lot to teach us about perserverance, devotion and stalwart mates.
Makes you thankful you are not a penguin. What a hard life. A beautiful movie.
The smooth sound of Morgan Freeman as he takes us all on a journey of real life! Fabulous! Amazing scenery and we capture only a moment of true emotion experienced by these truly amazing penguins!
A fantastic documentary about the lives and journeys of penguins!
Love this heartwarming movie, great to watch with the family (whatever the age), and Morgan Freeman's voice gives it that extra 'fuzzy' feeling to it. And the jokes are good, so it's not all serious, keeping you entertained all the way through.
Excellent documentary of the Penguins and a factual background foir the story of Happy Feet. The Making off extras are worth watching too. A really interesting and good documentary - the kids liked it too
This movie made me laugh and cry - so brilliantly shot and Morgan Freeman's narration is absolutely perfect. Sensational movie!
A 'feel good' load of ...... Great photography but not much else going for it
Fascinating study of the annual life cycle of the emperor penguins. What a tough life they go through. Really enjoyable
I watched this movie twice. Not only was it informative but the beauty of the environment in which it was filmed was truly breathtaking. This has to be one of the best documentaries I've seen....
Excellent doco. Like Happy Feet without the singing cartoon penguins...
My grand-daughter and I just loved it.
Scenery is magnificent, story is very touching, penguins are incredible. As far as animal documentarys go this one is a ripper
One of the best documentaries I have seen.
Visually spectacular; a moving story. Let down by obtrusive and a overly dramatic narration by Morgan Freeman and the musical score.
Excellent documentary, very interesting and well worth watching.
Absolutly spellbinding, They are truely amazing creatures. The cinimatic were breathtaking, and the story had a feel of realism that made you connect with those couragous little guys. We were so in awe... great
This is the BEST wildlife documentry I've ever seen. Absolutely BRILLIANT!!
Stunning and very informative.
Wow. Great, Amazing. We are truly lucky to be human. This is the real story of the penguins.
Just loved this.Who knew what the poor pengiuns have to go through
A very informative documentary my 5yr old loved it, she spoke for days after on the whole life cycle of penguines.
If you loved happy feet you will get alot from watching The March of the penguines, a great movie full of interest &
info for all ages.
Great scenery! They are truly an amazing group of animals. Good to watch. Very much a documentary, but worth a look if you like amazing scenary and interesting animal interaction.
Great Doco. A true account of how challenging life can be. Mankind should take note of these creatures.
Forget it - I watched 10mins of it.
Nice movie about the Penguin's life.
A nice enjoyable movie, such dear things, penguins.
An excellent account of the emporer penguins life cycle. Makes me glad I am human.
Visually wonderful. A great movie but a bit long.
As a new mum myself, this is delightful!
good as far as doco's go but after all the hype about this movie I was a bit disappointed.Great scenery, beautiful, brave birds.
Beautiful images. Has all the emotions that a good story should have. Something the whole family can watch
Very enjoyable and exciting A true experience
What a hardy bunch these little guys are - and what a tough life they lead.
beautifully shot and nice subject material but it is quite a basic nature documentary.
Very educational and interesting. Wonderful scenery.
Nothing really wrong with this but not nearly as good as I was expecting. Run-of-the-mill documentary as far as I'm concerned. Don't go out of your way.
Enjoyable documentary, the camera work was amazing with them getting so close to the penguins.
In a nutshell, it is fun.
As contains everyting that can happen in an ordinary man's life, it seems to be the story of my friend or myself.
Laughed, cried and thought long and hard about how "God" could have got it so wrong by making life for these gorgeous creatures so bloody hard. Existing to breed, these guys go through more than any human could possible endure and for one reason alone.... to ensure their species survives. Beautifully filmed and Morgan Freeman is a stand out narrator (up there with Hopkins and Burton). Truly magnificent.
What an awesome film. What truly amazing creatures the penguins are.
Thought it was good.. The music was great.
Lovely to watch. The penguins are so human at times.
Great photography; and insite to the world of the Empera Penquins. Well worth a watch
Excellent and very well produced. Makes you feel like being there to assist them in food and some sort of shelter.
Interesting documentary on the way the penguins migrate every year.
good film if you like documentaries. I really enjoyed it.
We were totally spellbound watching this movie!
Surprisingly moving. Highly recommended!
wonderful footage. Amazing photography and sooooooooooooo interesting
Amazing, surprisingly touching, awesome visuals, perhaps too sparsley narrated for my liking, but on the whole highly recommended.
Morgan Freeman was a perfect choice for commentator on this movie and the scenery is astounding. The director captures the struggle of the penguins to survive against unimaginably harsh conditions. The DVD also features a fascinating 'making of' movie of the research team's tribulations while making the documentary.
One to go out and buy (would be good on Blu-Ray or HD-DVD) So I'll be waiting for the HD version (Kids enjoyed it too)
Very beautiful. Well directed and good viewing for the whole family!
Just magnificient. The camera work is remarkable and captures the Emperor Penguins at their best, as well as showing the stark reality of their existence is such a harsh environment.
Wonderful insight into the life of an Emporer Penguin. The movie held my attention from start to finish.
Morgan Freeman and Penguins .A Great doco with all of the cuteness of happy feet without the dancing and singing.A well worth watching DVD.
Sensational documentary! Morgan Freeman was good, but it would have been better with David Attenborough. Feel for the camera crew working under such hard conditions. They must have learnt a lot from those patient and enduring penguins.
Beautifully filmed. Interesting facts, a reminder not to take life too casually.
AMAZING STORY OF LOVE,DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT IN BRINGING UP A FAMILY. FABULOUS!
Excellent photography and narration
Amazing! Beautifully made film (though really a documentary). The Special Features was just as enjoyable as the main feature. How those 2 guys put up with 7,000 squealing penguins is beyond me! It really is "survival of the fittest". Humans could learn a few lessons from them!
Really shows what intelligent anmimals penguins are. Shows their patience and caring attitude to their mate and offspring. Humans should take heed of this beautiful animal.
This doco is great and something unique. I don't know how they got their cameras to work in 80 below temps.
Great doc if you like doc's
If you love animals and like documentaries you will thoroughly enjoy this moving. To see how natural instinct can drive an animal is amazing. To watch these Penquins do near the impossible to meet, mate and nuture is inspiring.
The DVD sent missed scenes 7,8 and 16 and 17. It was jumpy in other places and froze in others. The DVD was visibly scratched and such an atrocious CD should have been binned.
I love penguins and loved watching this documentary about their survival whilst trying to breed. You don't realise what some animals have to do just to survive and to keep their species going. Sad in parts, but alas that is part of nature also.
A stunning visual treat and a fantastic story that may have lost a bit in translation, saved only by the dulcet tones of Morgan Freeman. I found the additional documentary more of an insight and captivating than the feature film. Worth watching, but naught to rave about.
Simply amazing what those emperor penguins do. Their efforts are shown in an intriguing way with many wonderful shots of antarctica.
Stunning photography and a fascinating subject make this film definitely worth watching. But the saccharine script, though narrated well by Morgan Freeman, was much too anthropomorphic. This gave a rather patronising tone to the whole film. David Attenborough would probably have done more justice to the power and realism of the penguins' journey - breathlessness and all :-) Though the documentary DVD 'extra' about the making of the movie did help to add greater realism to the whole.
What a delightful dvd. I always enjoy watching movies about nature and I LOVE penguins. Some parts in it were sad but overall it was a beautifully filmed movie.
Reasonably well made doco but it's all about the penguins! They're determined little buggers, a classic case of nature finding a way.
Wonderful photography and research. Narrative a bit over-sentimentalised for me. Attention flagged at times.
I think everyone should watch this very special movie. It's amazing to see what these determined animals do to both breed and survive.
Excellent and have already recommended other friends to watch
Reinforces what life is all about. If this doesn't affect you in a wonderful way, see a psychologist -- you need help!
Well shot, very informative and certainly worth watching although I don't think it lived up to all the hype it got when it was released.
Informative and really interesting movie. Our kids loved it! Would highly recommend.
I love penguins so to watch this "close up & personal" movie was a thrill. Felt for the camera crew filming in those conditions, but I'm sure it was a act of love for the penguins that kept them going. Some funny highlights thrown in as well. Can't wait for 'Happy Feet' to come out at end of the year!!
Amazing documentary on penguins in the antartic, what parents will do for their kids!
Its good gear. Morgan Freeman narrates a spectacular looking Documentary that plucks at the old heart strings. Be careful if the boys are coming over for a couple of stubbies and a pizza but definitely grab it if your looking to entertain a special lady.
