Man on a Ledge (2012)

Was wondering if this was going anywhere with him standing on the ledge talking with the negotiator but suddenly things started happening. Very good.

Really enjoyed this. Well acted and with a good story line. You could guess who the 'baddies' were at the beginning but it didn't detract from the story.

Not my kind of movie but nevertheless believable and well told and acted therefore quite enjoyable.

An interesting idea for a heist film, sadly Sam Worthington isn't the best actor and is a bit one dimensional. Not terrible though.

I really enjoyed this. Yes, it was fairly predictable but then again what isn't these days - everything has been done before. But I thought it was quite gripping and the acting was pretty good. Well worth a watch.

Really enjoyed this movie, fast paced enough to keep you on the edge and even when the twist was revealed it kept you involved.

Having just watched the Bourne trilogy, this movie is not on the same level. But it's not too far below. Good story, action & suspense. Not a bad action thriller.

It took a little while for this movie to warm up: it had all the right elements of a film of total excellence, but somehow I just couldn't feel much empathy with the protagonist - played by Worthington. Anyway, I took a look at the special features and saw to what lengths the film-makers went to to produce this film: "The Ledge". This is my opinion only, but I think that they were focusing so much on the extravaganza of the ledge and what they had to do to produce all the ledge scenes that they forsook, in part, to include the audience into a empathetic relationship with Worthington's character, especially from the beginning of the movie. I think that it is this element that makes us barrack for the beleagured hero so much in a this film genre. A little bit more effort to achieve this and I would have given it all five stars. No doubt about Sam Worthington, this Aussie rocks, and rocks Hollywood. Yah!

This is a great action flick, well written with a terrific storyline. Well acted by all & it was good to see an Aussie in the main role. Keeps you interested all the way thru.

Very interesting, lots of little twists to the plot. I'm usually pretty good at predicting plots but didn't see this one past the obvious start of creating a distraction. There were a few holes in the story line that the script writer could have avoided, but - it was good entertainment. Great support cast and Sam W is very good - nice to see his career taking off.

Watchable but I am glad I didn't go to the cinema to see it.

Really enjoyed the suspense in this movie, and the way it was made to look as it wasn't going to turn out good at the end, then that huge jump, (great stunt work), I'd watch it again.

Very average. Good story line but badly executed.

The most silly and ridiculous set up I've seen in ages. It's so high concept (pun intended) it manages to squeeze its unbelievable and hamfisted situation into the movie's title. Yet somehow it works, and the solid acting and twists will keep most watching until the end to see how it all pans out. What a ludicrously saccharine and out-of-context ending though! I cringed.

This is highly recommended, everyone deserves a break in such a situation.

Everyone was solid and Sam is great but his american accent is mush. And someone mispelled the title, it should be "Man upstaged by booty"... 3.5/5

Good action Movie, kept my interest from start to finish. Don't try to apply logic to the story, just sit back and watch a half decent action Movie.

A good effort in the thriller genre. Given the title, the movie doesn't take long to get the man on the ledge. And as the police negotiator quickly realises, there is more going on than just the man on the ledge. Unfortunately, the parallel stories are rather confusing, and while the film makes sporadic attempts to explain the connections, it mostly gets lost in the quick jumps between scenes. It had potential to be a better film than it turned out to be. Still, the Extra feature on the filming is fascinating and worth seeing.
