Actors: Gérard Depardieu, Yolande Moreau, Isabelle Adjani

This outrageously funny and subversive tale follows Mammuth (Gérard Depardieu), a man who has worked hard since the age of 16, never missing a day. When he tries to claim his well deserved retirement pension, it turns out that several of his former employers have 'forgotten' to declare his earnings. To receive his full benefits, his only option is to go back to them and gather the missing affidavits. Encouraged by his wife, our hero mounts his old motorcycle from the 70s, a Mammuth which gave him his nickname. He returns to the places of his youth, a journey that brings him back into company with former employers, friends, and long-lost family members... Mammuth is an outrageously funny and subversive tale of one man's attempt to rightfully secure his state pension, whilst facing the prospect of retirement and the inevitability of growing old in the modern world. I hired this movie thinking it was going be to "hilariously funny" like it said about it.. Besides the fact it was sub-titled, I tried watching it on 3 different occasions thinking "give it a chance" but each time, it was utter c**p! Didn't even bother with it in the end. Waste of money!!!!

Strange storyline, but charming movie. Good performance by Gerard, and a great motorbike.

There is probably a point to this surreal and frankly, rather unpleasant film, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was. Depardieu makes the most of his hulking physicality, but the meandering script and puzzling David Lynch- like quality of the supporting characters make Mammuth a rather tedious experience.

I have no idea what this film was really meant to do. An aging fat actor playing an aging fat factory worker. A motor bike that killed his girl-friend etc. etc. Obtuse hardly describes the film.
