When ex-biker-gang member Sam Childers makes the decision to go to East Africa to help repair homes destroyed by civil war, he is outraged by the unspeakable horrors faced by the regions vulnerable populace, especially the children. Ignoring the warnings of aid workers, Sam breaks ground for an orphanage in the middle of territory controlled by Lord's Resistance Army, a renegade militia that forces youngsters to become soldiers before their teens. Determined to save as many as possible, he leads armed missions deep into enemy territory to retrieve kidnapped children, restoring peace to their lives - and eventually his own.

great film,true story of bad man does good things in africa-literally a preacher with a lot of guns

This movie moved me close to tears at times; it was that touching. Reason being that it's 100% based on real people and a real ministry in Africa. As someone else has commented here - it takes a little while to get the story moving; but then it just grabs you and does not let go. Do a Google search after the movie and you'll also see a webpage and Blog where you can help out financially - these little kids really need our help! Steve

An excellent flick. Get's off to a slow beginning, with rather laborious lead character back-story development, but after a half hour really gets into its stride. Very well worth a watch.
