Young caregiver Lucie finds new work with an ex-teacher in making home visits to elderly patients. Their last stop of the first day is at a dark, labyrinthine mansion owned by Madame Jessel, a comatose, former ballet instructor with a stern reputation. After learning that Madame Jessel is rumored to have a priceless treasure hidden somewhere deep within the sprawling estate, Lucie's boyfriend William convinces her and their pal Ben to stage a break-in on Halloween night. But the deeper the trio journeys into the mansion the more they learn that the house holds a terrifying secret. With no way out, they find themselves hopelessly caught in a twisted maze of unspeakable terror and supernatural torment.

Like some of the other reviewers I'm in two minds about this one. Some excellent creepy moments, and some confusing ones. The end was a little disappointing and confusing too. Good if you like the genre but needs to be noted that it is sub-titled. An unusual take on the vampire genre. If I could rate the first half it would be four stars and the end half three stars.

A magnificently macabre and stylishly done horror...I enjoyed it immensly...taxidermy freaks me out and this film takes it to a whole new level. It had all the classic elements of a great horror...gore galore and great blood effects. Almost Epic... check it out...if that's your thing.

I was surprised with this one actually - not too bad at all Quite creepy, thought not really edge of your seat stuff - but not too bad at all as a scary movie.

Had a lot of gruesome gory bits but in the end it just didn't make any sense!! Even searched the internet to find an explanation but to no avail! It was ok but if you watch it don't expect much

different/interesting french horror flik. what started out as a mystery/thriller movie quickly turned into a *--* title. (best you see for yourself). But beware, this title is NOT for the faint-hearted-- kids nightmare material, very 'graphic/blood thirsty by the end. Altogether worth the watch (entertaining)......... if you like this genre

I'm really not sure what to score this. There are moments that are decidedly scary (ala "Paranormal Activity")... but there's also moments that will either bore you silly or have you wondering what the hell is going on. Typically French then, I suppose. Two directors, two different directions?
