This was the first movie I ever bought myself when I was about 7 and 23 years on I still enjoy it almost as much as I did back then.
It will always remain a favorite of mine.

Great movie for the kids, but for the young at heart as well. From an oldie, it makes a refreshing change from all the blood and guts movies to watch something like this that is gentle and light.
Recommended for kids definitely and the not so young kids too.

Great animation, great main character -the young mermaid girl. Movie is let down though because of the remarkably sickly story line of a young woman and man who fall desperately in love with each other and live for nothing else. Everything works out happily ever after, the only problem is: Which little girl cares about growing up and getting married? Despite what Disney thinks, I don't reckon they ever did. This movie's also severely copy protected (errors encoded on disc) and may not work on all DVD players.

Aside from some nice musical numbers, this is utter
rubbish. Kids' movies have come a long, long way
since this was made.

I real love story, which was appropriate for the kids, and I also enjoyed it as well. Although my 3yr old thought some bits with the "sea witch" were a bit scary, but she really loved Ariel!
