Pretty good no brainer flic. You have to sit back and not take the premise too seriously. De Niro makes you sit up and take notice but he was hardly challenged in this role. The movie had several really bad lapses of continuity which left me stuggling to give it 3 stars.

Okay - so you have a foolproof share trading system, doubling your money every day........ why on earth would you borrow a few thousand dollars from a dodgy Russian criminal? Otherwise good, clever escapism.

Unexpected quirky film with a fabulous ending, rather like classic sci-fi films. Good on screen connection between De Niro and Cooper, and the use of colour and contrast in "Limitless" is startling well done. Excellent transitions and music-to-movement captures. A fun clever and captivating film! 4 stars.

Great premise, but like "Children of Men", just another 'shoot-em-up.' Where-oh-where are the intelligent sci-fi films we so desperately need. In this one, no resolution whatsoever of the moral dilemma involved. Just getting us inured to the constant diet of violence as if that in itself could/should interest and satisfy us. Boycott it.

Didn't quite live up to my expectations, but did keep me watching and surprised me a few times. Bradley Cooper did a good job of showing both the down on his luck writer and the man with the startling intellect. The use of light and colour to show his different states of being worked well.

Intelligent, well paced, well acted and completely plausible story line makes this film a joy to watch. I loved the ending; not your normal, corny Hollywood fare. Robert De Niro looks more and more Italian as he gets older - he even puts in an effort this time!

Waited so long to get this out that I bought it instead .. and it was well worth the money ... Excellent acting, even though the first 10 mins are a bit slow ... STICK WITH IT .. cos it enthralls you! definitely worth the watch

great concept,well acted ,well worth a look. Definitely getting us ready [for the "predictive programing" movies that show us before..what is coming so that it seems 'normal' when it does happen] as did "johnny monomic" and "the matrix",..extra memory/ability so that the young will embrace 'taking the chip',to be one step ahead of the others /or up with their gaming friends.

This was a very enjoyable show, it slowed at the 1hr. mark approx. however it then began to flow again nicely. Introducing Mr. Robert De Nero at this point was a masterstroke, he is possibly my favorite actor over the years as he lends himself to any genre. All in all, a great movie and I would happily suggest this as a picture to watch for all M rated viewers.

The storyline is simple, plain and akward. I am not sure why in the hell the main character once rich didnt pay the Russian loanshark and it's a real pity that the end is so dreadful. The blood licking scene is ridiculout and the end is confusing. Deniro has little to play in this.

Entertaining film with a good story and some great performances. Visual effects and camera work are good, and it's nice to see a Hollywood film with an action component that doesn't rely on ridiculous explosives or overly drawn-out car chase scenes. A few plot holes were a little distracting. (One of the most glaring examples being that an incredibly smart man gets $100k from a loan shark, uses it to make $2 million within 24 hours, and then inexplicably does not repay the loan.)
The protagonist uses his new-found intelligence to build himself up but does not really focus much on improving the lives of others. Just when the story hints he may finally be moving that direction, the film ends. It would have greatly benefited from 20-30 minutes on what he would do for the rest of the world and the obstacles he would have to overcome while trying to reach goals larger than himself.

Definitely worth a watch though...

There are so many clever ideas being put to into modern movies, but few succeed in carrying these effectively through the entire movie. However, Limitless demonstrates how plausability, clever editing & special effects camera work, can produce a perfectly flowing plot. It is initially predictable in it's direction, but as it movie progresses, it will leave you guessing what will happen next. Central character Bradley Cooper is outstanding. Go get it!

What if a pill could do that? would you take it? Hmmm, if I was on that pill what would I do??? What are the side effects? Watch this movie and see.....
Acting was very good, believable... and the use of light to show when he was on and of the drug was a good idea. Helped with the ending.
Yep enjoyed the movie, but was a bit slow at times, and short: 105min....

I enjoyed this movie. the fact that it has elements of truth in it helps. All his responses to his new found awareness are possible for all of us when we gain a heightened level of awareness which in turn aids in increasing our intelligence. Or perhaps they are essentially one and the same. This movie makes you think about your own life and how you are living it. Are you just trudging through on auto-pilot? Or do you have a purpose to your life? Are you REALLY doing something about it? As with all movies their are limitations (no pun intended) and greater depth is not possible. It does make you think about your own ability to reach which is a good thing. If you enjoyed "Time" you will certainly enjoy this one. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

I had heard a lot of hype about this one. It started well, then started to get a little boring & slow in the middle before picking up the pace again with a few twists in the plot, that were in some ways predictable (but still made you feel pretty smart for picking them before they were spelled out). My hubby hated the ending. I loved that it leaves you open to your own interpretation.
The bonus was how energized I felt after watching it & how the ending genrates good post movie disscussion.

well worth watching in my personal opinion, especially if you are a Bradley Cooper fan. Also stars DeNiro but not his best performance. Plot is not too far fetched, when you think about it. What not have a pill that increases your brain power to it's fullest? Problem is, this one has not been FDA tested and approved....and therein lies the plot. Easy to pick holes in the plot but overall, plenty of action to help you overlook this. Strange ending - setting up for a sequel perhaps?

The story could of been tightened up and a few holes filled in, otherwise a nice easy story to follow. Nice use of special effects and the style of the movie is good. Acting is fine, characters believable and plot ok. I enjoyed the movie although I think the ending is a little weak. Remember, drugs are bad, but our hero seems to find the miracle way that all junkies think they will find when they need to.

The assumption in watching this movie is that all will end tragically when the hero ends up as a moron for fooling around with his brain. But no! Thetitle of the movie "Limitless" has another meaning.

Very good story and holds your interest from start to finish.
