This was superb. Must have got a recommendation from David and Margaret, because noone much else has liked it. This very delicately portrayed the spaces between people who fall in love and explored the impact of first love on the rest of a life. There was plenty left unsaid. Believable and with characters you could care about, even the cast-off lovers inadvertently caught up in the lives of Anna and Jacob. You know a film is good if you wake the next morning and the characters and their lives are still with you.

I enjoyed this. A poignant look into the joys & the difficulties faced in relationships across continents, the harsh realities of immigration laws and the way life changes us as we go through difficult experiences. It is a sweet film of naive, young love, being forced to grow up through the hardships of making a relationship work despite the constant blocks thrown in their path.

A love Story that has an end of satisfaction. For those who are not wanting to watch a slower movie this one is not for you. This story has been created on what some have experienced in real life in not being with the one they love, it is based on an American and English girl that over stays her visa and not allowed back into America. Placing pressure on their relationship with distance involved they make do with what they have. This is one to watch if you are sick in bed and have no one else around to feel the movie.

Disjointed and dull. No real substance given to any of the relationships which made them unbelievable. Wouldn't waste my time watching it.... best part of the movie came in the first 2 mins

This was a disjointed film that bordered on the banal. It capturewd the vacuity of the younger generation who can only say 'wow' when confrontede with anything requiring thought. Dialogue was minimal and was often replaced by little kisses to the face and neck. If anyone had sex the way the characters did in the film the population explosion would be soved within a generation. Te ending seemed to come out of nowhere. The opening speech was the only real thing of merit in the whole film, It is disappointing to think that there are scriptwriters out there being paid real money to write such drivel. The plot had potential for many tensions but they just didn't materialise.

Awful. It was painfully slow. Not the good kind of independent film that develops complex characters, just irritatingly twee.

It started off ok then was like Groundhog day - predictable and repetative. When it abruptly ended, I wished I'd never wasted my time. It could have been heaps better with a little better writing, as the acting was ok.

another predictable, snorable movie. Had such potential, but sadly acting and script direction left it a boring daily drama. watch whole movie but sadly wont recommend.

This was a dull as dishwater - it may seem true to life but that's because there are a lot of really dull people out there. The two main characters were boring, shallow and uninteresting. They didn't do anything, say anything or even give the impression that they cared about anyone ............. and they didn't even seem to be enthusiastic about their great romance, so why should the audience. You could sum it up with the old expression - they made their bed and had to lie in it.

Pretty dumb really. Teenage type love so that was pretty annoying and then thgey're supposed to be fully in love with each other yet keep going off with other people. Disappointing movie...if you don't have time to waste then don't watch this.

I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes - bored to tears. Slowmoving, dopey young love, the dialogue was sparse and when there was some it was...empty and silly, definitely irritating parents. Pity. And I'd just seen Felicity Jones in "The Tempest" and she was SO good, so I'd been looking forward to this. As for "Why would someone rate it only 2 satrs?" - I think that person was GENEROUS, I can't even rate it ONE STAR only.

I really live for these type of stories told of a struggle with love that is not black and white but the shadings and outlines of the chronicles of a relationship both physical and emotional. In this instance, it seems the director has quietly achieve to highlight these shades in both character's lives. Wonderfully performed and for what it was filmed on an incredibly beautifully made film. I loved it.

Realistic it is but not a perfect neither the best love story ever filmed. Lots of cheating, I was wondering whether they were actually in love or not. Immature and naive love story for sure. I felt bored at times, uninterested!

And they lived happily ever after? Maybe, but it was a hard road getting there. Separation certainly isn't easy, especially in the heady days of new and young love. It's a clever movie, with lots of gaps in the story, yet always making it obvious what's happened. And it's so realistic that it could be a documentary of a love affair, with all its difficulties and challenges.

Yes, this is a good story, very well told and well acted. Girls parents are iritating but maybe that was the point. But boy, did this guy keep making the wrong call. Talk about being stalked, lassoed, strung up and hung out to dry by such a dopey girl. Romance may have its nice side but the novelty wears off. Give me the american g/f any day!
