Suzanne is a well-to-do married woman and mother in the south of France. Her idle bourgeois lifestyle gets her down and she decides to go back to work as a physiotherapist. Her husband agrees to fix up a consulting room for her in their backyard. When Suzanne and the man hired to do the building meet, the mutual attraction is sudden and violent. Suzanne decides to give up everything and live this all engulfing passion to the fullest.

As the frustrated wife prepared to risk everything for passion, Kristen Scott Thomas gives a rich captivating performance while Corsini's skillful direction captures the subtleties of emotion and character as the story propels itself toward a shocking end.

Bit melodramatic & bit grim! Kristen Scott-Thomas is good. Enjoyed her performance.

Call me unromantic, but this would have been more believable if the stars had been younger. Didn't quite ring true for me. Good acting though.

Undecided on this one. A good movie but sad storyline and don't like it when films finish with questions unanswered. I suppose we can guess what happens...

I watch heaps of French movies and this one, although very well acted etc was not up to it. If you want an entertaining evening in front of the box -forget it. It is very heavy duty and not 100% believable.

Money is the root of all evil and we can have everything on a material level and still not be happy..no matter what language you speak the world is the same..all we really need is "to love and to be loved in return"..keep that in mind and you will enjoy this movie.Kristen Scott yet again has me thinking she is really a French woman

Sad, but beautiful. Amazing how people can give up all they have for the love of someone they hardly know. But it does happen, and not just in French movies. But maybe anyone would give up all for someone as captivating and alluring as Kristin Scott Thomas!
