It was good to finally see this movie and mark it off my bucket list. William Hurt and Raul Julia play fantastic parts, but I found it slow and therefore didn't keep my interest.

William Hurst won a Best Actor Oscar as the flamboyantly gay prisoner in a South American jail, but Raul Julia is just as good as a political prisoner who becomes his cellmate. It was good to see this 1985 film again. Was it as good as I'd rememembered it to be? Not quite. It is quite slow by today's standards. However it is recommended for those who missed it first time around.
