In contrast with this movie's thrust 'against' prudish religious moralism it is now quite starkly contradictory to present day feminist moralism: how curious don't you think!? It's a joke really... great movie great cast of actors... I liked the blunt exploration of even the most taboo of subjects related to human sexuality. Kinsey was ahead of his time
This is one man who truly understands what women want.
Great Movie good storyline Liam Neeson is always good in this type of movie , although he should do less action , he looks a little awkward at times, definatley worth watching
Some of the sexual content was unnecessarily graphic/explicit. A fairly dull film.
Entertaining, enlightening and ultimately enjoyable film about the work of Alfred Kinsey. Not for the prudish of our population, one might add.
I loved it. The historical perspective is very interesting and the impact his research had on our lives is profound.
A story of a man who was clearly ahead of his time and has made an impact on all of us.
Excellent documentary of Kinsey's life and work; his parentage; his authoritarian fundamentalist father and docile mother. It vividly and accurately portrays the puritan, judgemental, sex-negative aspect of American society, which made his work so difficult - and eventually cut off funding for his research. A+++++++++++++
based on a true story this movie is a must!! excellent actors, kind of funny (from nowadays seen). Definitly not to be missed!!
A great film to watch from the begining to end.
Interesting movie , which highlights the era that changed and was part of the sexual revalution.
This must have been planned to be such a huge movie. The deleted scenes last a LONG time, and there are a hell of a lot of them including an alternate ending. The cast are uniformly strong, the cinematography is excellent and the storytelling very good indeed.
Don't bother. Not very interesting and a weak story line.
A strange movie, I can't say I enjoyed it but it enlightened me to human experience
A brave film. What a shock Kinsey's reports must have been in the 50's, they certainly changed the (western) world's attitudes to sex. The revelations of his research are with us today. The film handles a still touchy subject to many in an open an honest way. Most thought provoking.
Not for the fainthearted but worth watching to grasp how far we've come in such a short time in our understanding and communication of sex. A little slow-moving but still engaging.
Liam Neeson does a great job playing a very complex character, supported by a great cast. Not a documentary, but a very thoughtful and considered biopic.
very interesting movie - probably wouldn't suit the mainstream viewers though
As enlightned baby boomer we enjoyed watching the environment of our parents grew up in !!
Brilliant story acted very well by Liam and Laura Linney. Thought provoking and entertaining at the same time.
Great movie! Very insightful! Broached the topic of sex in a way I've never seen it approached before and leant me some insight into how things may have been for our parents and grandparents.
I loved it! Very funny, interesting to learn about how sex used to be thought of.
If there were a 3 and a half star rating I would give it that. It's subject matter is interesting and challenging, if at times a little too biological for the squeamish, but the movie didn't seem to me to have enough heart to it to rate it as excellent.
Great performance by Neeson in what is an overly long dramatisation.
How radical Kinsey would have been at the time. This movie was great, quite shocking in parts. We have come such a long way!
A fairly gentle tale that makes for an enjoyable movie, reasonably well acted with with some strange support actors like Chris O'Donnell (he seems to have fallen far). An easy way to learn about Kinsey and his famous sex research.
If you are like me and watch the full gambit from Miss Congeniality to Raging Bull (and enjoy all of them inbetween as well)..then watch Kinsey simply to add to the collection. That said, Kinsey is a rather boring personality and his research into sex in America during the 1950's is rather...zzzzzzz...sorry, I dozed off there. Enough said.
