Bloody & brutal, but I think there's a message in there about the battle for Jerusalem between Christians & Muslims which still goes on to this day. Unfortunately, no one's listening to it.

Watch the Directors Cut instead. Orlando Bloom is still terrible but there is so much cut out of this version it is not worth watching

I'd forgotten that I'd seen this before, so I obviously wasn't all that impressed the first time around. Nor the second for that matter. despite a good cast and production, it didn't really grab me.

Look it was OK but quick, short scenes in the early part made for a confusing plot and poor character development. Seemed like the movie settled down when the fights scenes began

I checked this out after coming out of The Departed in love with its writer. Unfortunately he must have smacked his head against a table enough times for the bloodstains to resemble English words and revised it after talking to his 6 year old son about what he learnt that day in history class. Orlando Bloom was naturally attracted to this type of material.

It looks great... but it certainly forgot to get itself a coherent plot line. Cliches fly left and right as the plot changes on the turn of a dime, trying to juggle too much and managing pretty much nothing.

15! minutes of ads. 12! >> pushes to get to a point where you can watch the fnorking film! If I had ever known this was a Ridley Scot film I had long since forgotten. He is far more a general than a storyteller. It is a long film for such a simple story. The dvd extra "Pilgrim's progess" makes for a much more interesting story.

A true epic that has tranfered to DVD very well. Normally epics don't have the same impact that they do on the big screen but I found this to be very enjoyable. I also liked the fact that it over commercialise the story as they did with Troy. Be mindfull however that the violence is pretty graphic and I think you have to be a bit of a fan of Gladiator style movies to really enjoy as I have.

I was not too impressed with Kingdom of Heaven. The main characters were wooden and didn't evoke sympathy as other similar movies have done. Whether they won or lost seemed unimportant in the end.

Usually not a big fan of the epic, blood thirsty action movie but this one was fantastic. Whilst it was quite hard to watch in places due to the graphic violence it moved along well and kept me interested right through till the end. The ending was a bit of a let down but all in all a great watch.

To be fair, better than most "epics". Great effort has been made to recreate the times, but as with so many films of this genre, sadly lacking in drama. There is little if any character develeopement or dramatic conflict. We never understand the true feelings of the protaganists, they simply give out the usual cliches. The photography and special effects deserve more than three stars, the script less. And then the "love"interest, totally irelevant to the story. One begins to wonder if all films of this type are now being written by a computer - they are so predictable. Another missed opportunity for what could have been a great story.

Not quite Gladiator, in fact a few steps short but nonetheless is quite entertaining. Orlando Bllom shows he is a high quality performer and brings out the emotions well in a movie that is quite high on action.

Overblown, overwrought, overlong. If you like battle scenes you might get something out of this otherwise there's not much to recommend it. A lot goes on but not much happens in any real sense. We learn how Ridley Scott would like us to believe the crusades were conducted (a few rotten apples spoil an otherwise peaceful military occupation) and watch a dull romance ride hills and troughs but I just couldn't care less for them. As for the main protagonist, I have a dead tree stump in the back yard with greater range than poor Orlando. The only highlight for me was Jeremy Irons - who can act under custard and be believable and engaging - and Liam Neeson who made the most of an all too brief role. I nearly bought this and for that reason alone I thank Quikflix immensely.

Amazingly complex spectacle and quiet simply the best epic proportion film I have seen in some time, I can not understand how this masterpiece appears to have gone straight to DVD possibly only due to the somewhat brutal fighting scenes. Also the final comment made about the worth of a Jerusaleum is very fitting.
