Hmmm, absent, neglectful and irrelevant parents breed..........well, sort of like a city version of Lord of the Flies I guess. Probably should be compulsory viewing for all 13 yo girls.
Clearly a movie to love or hate. I remember seeing it in the cinema and hearing to astonished gasps from the audience.
The storyline is strong and follows the narration of Telly as he tried to bed underaged girls. He's a young leader and his followers seem only tolerant of his approach to life unless they can benefit from the spoils of it. The feel of a gritty New York summer gets under the skin making this an uncomfortable but highly worthwhile movie to watch.
Lots of random, uninteresting and drawn-out scenes of kids of a certain milieu being the kids they are. While from the mid-90s, the only real difference from today is the conspicuous absence of mobile phones. There's minimal storyline, which is a shame, as there was actually the makings of a worthwhile story amongst the empty lives.
Great insight into a specific youth culture. The reason I don't teach teenagers!
Kids in New York City and what they get up to. Worrying, mind blowing, and pretty damn awesome.
Had to see it for it is constantly listed in the most controversial films list for various sites. It is controversial but it also shows some home truths that some parents would not like to see from their teenagers!
Distrubing to see what some young people are like now days, but also interesting to know. Would not want to watch it twice though. Very Disgusting!!
Seems a bit dated now and one wonders what all the fuss was about. Interesting to see some future stars in their debut.
I turned it off half way through!
Quite a graphic view of a bunch of teenagers in New York drinking, taking drugs and having unprotected sex.
This movie is very, very, disturbing. Scarred me for life.
This would have to be the most disturbing movie I have ever seen what scares me the most is that this really happens.
As a 21 year old who had been passing for 18 for six years, remember being asked for id to see a film called Kids. Better the second time around away from all the hype.
This is a really good movie and people shouldn't be put off by its crazy description.
The HIV positive kid doesn't even know he has HIV and through the whole movie he only tries to sleep with one girl. He may be a jerk, but it's not like he's a crazy psycho trying to spread Aids or anything.
Great Acting, great direction, very real movie movie definitely worth a watch.
