Strong violence, coarse language and sexual references

Director: Matthew Vaughn
Actors: Aaron Johnson, Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lyndsey Fonseca, Clark Duke

Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name - Kick-Ass - assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

This movie is crass, loud, and full of itself... and that's what makes it work so brilliantly. A unique take on the superhero genre with brilliant performances by all involved (and a movie Nicholas Cage didn't kill by being cast in it), it's worth a watch or three. Once the kids are fast asleep, of course.

Definitely NOT a movie for children. An absolutely fantastic movie, and a totally different take on Superhero adventures. Cleverly draws on the genre without making a parody of it, instead taking an extreme view of what could happen if we wanted to be superheroes for a day. Great performance by mostly unknown actors, solid performance by Nicholas Cage as Big Daddy. The production team was mostly from Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels and it shows, but not in a way that should limit the appeal of this movie to a wider audience.

This Movie was Nothing I ever expected! I had to watch the behind the Scenes with the commentary to hear the history of making this Movie! Because it's so Original; I can't remember the last time I've seen something this original. I now own this copy! Sad because it's hardly recognised to the public. But I recommend Adults to watch this! Sooo Funny

It was OK. Great action sequences but a little overrated. It is an original unique take on the superhero genre, but i just felt it didn't go anywhere. A lot of the scenes in the film seem a little pointless, but fun at the same time. Fans of comic books turned movie will enjoy Kick-Ass.
