Looked a stupid storyline, but was very good.
One for those who like their moralism served up by the platterful.
A very stylish and heartfelt film with the right mix of fun and emotion. Juno rocks and is certainly a teen film that I think defines the modern era. Highly recommended.
This movie could have been so much better, but it was certainly a good way to fill in time
This movie is sweet touching and funny. The young actors are brilliant.
A witty script using modern (teenager's language) enhance the storyline of this movie. Not an emotionally charged love story, no violence, just a humorous slice of life story that makes for pleasant viewing.
A story about a teenage pregnancy and how it effects the potential mother and those close to her.
Why is this movie rated so highly. A stupid movie about nothing in particular. Maybe appeals to teens but no great story line
Great story, great acting, great fun!
Love the characters in this movie- not overly realistic, but who says all movies have to be perfectly real? Like the storyline and the soundtrack... One of my faves!
I just love this movie - and having sub-titles to get the full dialogue made it more enjoyable second-time around. (I can't understand 'American', as I'm partially deaf.) The way the scetchy-art effect merges into real, the music, the poignancy of the actors, the freshness of production, it is a class job.
This presented an interesting alternative storyline to the usual team pregnancy films. I found it refreshing and loved Juno's parents reactions to her announcing her pregnancy. My boyfriend on the otherhand couldn't get past the teen dialogue and walked out after fifeteen minutes (he did the same with twilight).
I liked the movie despite my best attempts not to. But it seems totally unrealistic. Few 16yo girls are that mature and realistic. Getting in Cars with Boys is far more "real life" portrayal of teenage pregnancy. Juno is the sugar coated christian version.
Beautiful movie - the performances were subtle and so well crafted (especially considering how young the two stars are). Really lovely little movie.
fun easy watching. enjoyed it
Quirky, interesting and funny. We sat and watched it and my youth aged kids were laughing at the funny situations and things said. If my kids were that 'cheeky' and outspoken I don't know that I would handle it as well as the Dad in the movie. What an ending too.
Excellent movie quite quirky
I don't think as highly of this movie as so many other's do, but that doesnt mean it's bad. Actually it's pretty good, the characters are real, and have real conversations making them believable and engaging. Has funny moments, sad moments and I especially enjoyed the scenes with Juno and her parents.
Enjoyed the movie- older audiences may not understand all the language- yet this was a refreshing movie
Great story and the characters were fun and different. Wonderful to see a movie with a positive view to being responsible for our actions and seeing a pregnancy through to birth.
Good movie I enjoyed the different play on an old situation
I liked this movie because it was quirky and unique. The big let down for me was the lack of chemistry between Juno and her boyfriend. How could a sassy super sophisticated girl like Juno be attracted to such a wimpy dull ugly guy completely void of any personality and emotion. Not believable enough! It let the whole movie down for me. If they ever make part two maybe they can substitute Michael Cera with a cardboard cut out and save some moolah!
Great movie. Should have made it a 4 star. I could watch this movie again I really enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed this movie, and although everything doesn't turn out perfect or in some cases even that good, it felt real.
light weight up beat comedy
Really, a very good film!
I really enjoyed this movie immensely. I felt emotion
Juno is an absolutely hilarious take on the teen drama/comedy genre. Some classic one liners, and characters you can sink your teeth into. Highly recommended.
This quirky, off-beat comedy is a winner. The ensemble cast is fabulous and the script is so clever it warrants close attention if you don't want to miss the great jokes.
I loved the recurring visual gag of the running team and Michael Cera's performance as the dorkiest male romantic lead you will ever encounter. His bedroom is classic. Don't miss it.
A bit of a strange movie, but well worth watching.
Not to shabby, liked the fact that the teenagers where just that teenagers, and a controversal issue, even though it never really swept me off my feet, the film is consistently humorous and, in one scene near the end, somewhat heartbreaking.

If i could give more than 5 stars, i would! Great movie, so funny, characters are brilliant!
Ended up really enjoying this movie. A little slow in places but maybe this was because it has a real life feel to it and that's how real life sometimes is. Loved the unexpected story line and ending, with very believable performances from the entire cast.
Feel good movie, interesting character (Juno).
Fantastic. Much enjoyed by our group of 5 women aged 35 to 55 who watched this together.
Fantastic writing by Diablo Cody. Loved all the characters - realistic people with believable personalities. A very enjoyable film.
I loved this film. Whimsical but serious at the same time, I liked that most of the characters were actually nice people just doing the best they could. Perhaps the only bit that didn't quite feel right was the young couple wanting to adopt - how on earth did they end up together in the first place? Girl who played Juno was a fabulous blend of child and young woman.
loved the movie.....loved her character
I was not too sure about this one. However I really liked it. I think the music made the film very good
Wonderful. Happy. Enriching. Watch it!!
I am sorry to say but Juno DVD would not read in my player and my player is ok it plays everyother movie so i could not watch it Thanks Heather
Everything about this movie was brilliant, to be honest I was expecting a typical teenage comedy movie and it was so the opposite. The script was just excellent and I felt like the way the movie headed you were lead to believe a few different things might happen, yet I was surprised somewhat with the outcome.
Very good movie.
Even on the 4th, 8th, 12th viewing of this movie you still love it. The script by Diablo Cody is whip smart and lively and the two leads, Ellen Page and Michael Cera are the teens you wish your kids would be. A fantastic comedy come coming of age tale. Great family fun!
This was a very funny and yet emotional movie. Everytime I laughed, I cried. Very moving..thankyou
A refreshing little movie that is enjoyable in the same way as Little Miss Sunshine & Transamerica. Ellen Page is great in the lead.
Such a different film, but strangely sweet. I absolutely love the song at the end.
A great movie which portrays teenage life today. Not just a teen movie either, well worth a watch for all ages, particularly parents of teenages, if you want a bit of an insight!
The actors were well picked for the roles. I look forward to seeing Ellen Page in more movies.
Really enjoyable, light and fluffy movie.
More a dramatic-comedy. Not what I expected, but still an interesting watch.
Having seen it once, I have no desire to see it again.
This is a really sharp movie that breaks some teenage pregnancy stereotypes without giving it the Hollywood gloss treatment. Thoroughly enjoyable.
A movie that envellops one in a wooly blanket of well being! A must see movie!!
I didnt think this was going to be my type of movie when it started but turned out to be quite a good film. The storyline was solid and it kept moving along.
This is a very sweet movie, and at times very funny. Great music too! It's lighter than I expected, but still very good.
Average movie, good humour.
Absolutely LOVE this movie. Good story line. Very funny.
Juno is a fantasy. Certainly Juno herself is a total fantasy of a teenager. We all wanted to be like her or thought we were - witty, wordly in an unjaded way, insightful, just the best taste in music. No teenager is really like Juno. And no real teenager - or indeed that teenager's family - would react to her pregnancy as is seen here. This all sounds like I thought 'Juno' was empty headed and artificial. Look at my rating - four stars. This is a wonderfully made and intelligent movie. Yes, it is a fantasy. But a fantasy of how things should be. We need more movies like this, about how things should be and not all the time, so brutally how they are.
A touching story of teenage pregnancy with some great lines along the way. Well acted and entertaining to the end.
Why does everyone like this movie? I kept hearing how the young girl's such a confident, strong-willed girl, but I could barely make it through this movie because everyone's so dumb.
If Juno was an intelligent girl, she'd have kept the baby herself because she'd have realised that the silly beat-up about teen mums is baseless -teen girls have been having and looking after kids for thousands of years, much more in the past than now, and it's just nature that gives teen girls the desire to have babies, not dysfunctional families. Just as teen boys are nuts about sex, teen girls are nuts about babies -but not Juno, she's completely indifferent and careless.
Juno's family just got on my nerves. Juno comes and goes from the house whenever she pleases and they don't seem to care. They're happy for her to just give her baby away, rather like one would give a puppy away, and practically every bit of advice they give sounds like they have the IQ of a toilet bowl.
Juno's boyfriend just stares blankly throughout the movie, unsure of how to respond to basically everything.
This is probably the most ridiculous and erroneous portrayal of teen pregnancy I've seen in ages. It's just one big sad story about stupid people and the stupid things they do and say and the stupid consequences of them all.
Juno, a smart, sassy young girl? Don't make me sick.
Very enjoyable movie and handy to use as an opener to talk with your children about sex (goodness how Juno would cringe!).
I enjoyed watching this movie - I love the dry sense of Humour of Juno
Christian Rock as a movie. Preachie with a folksy soundtrack that sets dogs howling.
If you love your neighbour; don't recommend this film to them...
Clever little movie. Not quite what I expected but worth a watch.
I just LOVE this movie, I could watch it again and again and again! It is so quirky, funny and witty - the characters are totally fascinating, it's a story that makes you laugh and cry. Ellen Page is smarty
While I found the worldly confidence of the lead "teenage girl" a little hard to swallow, I still enjoyed the movie. A young school girl, apparently well in control of her life, falls pregnant and after initially considering abortion, decides to carry the pregnancy and adopt the baby. She develops a relationship with the adoptive parents-to-be but life is never simple. This is the lead actress from Hard Candy essentially playing a very similar character in a different setting.
I was a little wary of this movie when I added it to my queue but oh boy am I glad I did !!! Just gotta love Juno's sarcasm, forthrightness, honesty (same thing I suppose), the surprising twists in the movie which were completely unexpected, loved the dorky boyfriend not being such a dork after all. Please, please, just get it out and watch it .. you'll love it !!
Very disappointing!! Sixteen year old with bad attitude and pregnant. End result good but getting there was painful.
I absolutely loved this unusual movie, it is a must for anyone looking or in need of a laugh...
What a great wacky teenage love story! Great cast, great acting, great storyline.
Great movie, very easy to watch and perfectly cast roles!
Charming, realistic, touching, quirky and very funny. Loved it....delightful movie with an interesting sound track.
Totally entrancing, as an adoptive mum, I can see all sides. A very real movie, so worth watching.
I don't know why this film got such good reviews or why it's so popular. It's not bad, the characters are nicely quirky but like, the American teenage-speak is like totally un-awesome. It's ok I suppose.
Okay you probably heard by now it's good. Was resisting it due to the hysteria over it's pro-life message. That's not to say I have any stake in the debate, I just don't like having opinions shoved down my throat, and so far the pro-choices haven't put pictures of dead babies in my letter box. This film does not have an agenda; the cast are a pleasure to watch and the dialogue a pleasure to hear.
Watched it with my daughter and we both loved it ! Great script, and Page was fabulous!
probably one of the worst and irritating movies i have seen so far. Terrible actors terrible story line! best of luck!
Great stuff, what brilliant young actors.
What a fantastic movie! I thought thorougly great from every perspective. Can't speak highly enough of it...just watch it!
My 16 year old daughter recommended this movie and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Very funny with its one liners and wit. Must admit though, the one liners and wit were a bit too scripted to be from the mouths of teenagers. Teenagers just don't talk like that.... not in this country anyway. Their dialogue was far too adult to be plausible but it was a funny film and highly recommended.
Not great but not bad...just left me feeling like i didn't care either way. Jennifer Garner is great as the upperclass wannabe "mommy" ...if it weren't for her i'd have probably given it in. I expected a little more comedy.
Not for me this one, what a yawn. It didnt engage me much at all. I think pregnant females would like it.
We sat our teenage girls down to watch this movie and they loved it. This movie takes a different look at teen pregnancies and how it affects people. Would recommend this one to anyone. Thoroughly enjoyable, funny and serious at the same time. It even entertained my hubby who Ii must say is a hard person to please when it comes to watching a movie. So it must have been good.
I had problems with this film about teenage pregnancy and adoption. It was too blase a treatment for mine; witty dialouge aside. The soundtrack annoyed me and I wonder if male viewers might like this tidy view of parental responsibilities, or lack thereof. Birth with no consequences - great!
This movie only works because Ellen Page is so well cast in the role of Juno. She looks and sounds the right age, even though what she says is way too sophisticated - but that's the joke of the whole story. How casting can go awry is seen in one of Juno's class mates who looks about 30. The story has a few surprises that keep it interesting.
Loved this movie. Ellen Paige and Michael Cera were excellent in there roles and very funny. The whole interaction between characters was excellent. A great feel good movie.
Superb- Funny, touching, random, unique. Loved Ellen Page and Michael Cera. One of the best we have seen.
Not a bad storyline but the lead actor who plays Juno is so annoying, it turned me off the movie. She is 16 but somehow acts like she is 40 and understands how the world works. Felt like turning the movie off a number of times. Typical Hollywood ending dissapointed.
So funny! Great dialogue...I'm going to buy this one.
Fantastic characters and actors. I could have watched Ellen Page for hours. Sequel?
Great movie... could watch again!
Loved it so much had to go out and get my own copy the next day! Even my sister loved it, and she is very hard to impress where movies are concerned. Such a great mix of humor and drama delivered with dry wit and facinating bit characters (thinking of the service station attendant here). Denfinitely worth a look (or three)!
Very enjoyable, Juno is a great character. Highly recommended!
Excellent! 'must see' movie - in fact 'must see again' movie for the ultra sharp dialogue and storyline
Excellent movie. Very funny and emotional. I loved Juno's sarcasm - it really made the movie. A must see.
Quite a pleasant film that makes light of a potentially traumatic time in a young girl's life. Juno is an endearingly sharp-witted character, but beyond her the film is a tad shallow. excellent evening's viewing though.
I personally found this movie didn't quite live up to all the hype. It was a feel-good movie, but a little slow in parts. It's a good movie for when you don't really want to think, and just veg on the couch on a rainy day.
Great movie and kept me wondering what would happen next
This movie is very good, and funny. Outstanding performances by The actors (Juno and her step Mum) and solid performances by the rest of the cast.
Definately get this one out and enjoy it!! 4.5 stars for me
You may wonder if teenage pregnancy can really be this easy, EVEN if you're white, American and middle class, but this movie eventually wins you over with its unrelenting onslaught of cheerfulness.
This has a simple plot: 16-year old girl gets unexpectedly pregnant and, after dismissing the idea of an abortion, decides to give her baby up to adoption to a couple who advertise in a local paper. Frankly I found the whole thing a little unbelievalbe: the self assuredness of Juno, the complete and immediate acceptance and support by her parents are all a bit fairty tale like for me but in the end that didn't matter too much. The performances and the snappy dialogue make it worth watching. Ellen Page is great in the title role and the supporting cast, especially Alison Janney as her stepmother, is also very good. Overall it's an intelligent, funny, feel good movie which is rare and wonderful in this age where farting loudly equals movie humour.
I absolutely loved this movie and the dialog between the characters is fantastic. What a screen play!!!
Worth Watching - I quite enjoy the story
Juno desperately wants to be offbeat and indie but ends up derivative and hopelessly unrealistic. Is any real-life teenager that witty and self-assured? I know I wasn't.
The scriptwriter (an ex-stripper, apparently) tries way too hard and Ellen Page is such a capital-A actor that, for most of the movie, I just wanted to punch her in the fetus.
This is a wonderful movie with some great acting and an incredible script. Juno's attitude and behaviour was refreshing but the character will appeal more to her age group than others as her "smart mouth" and sarcasm doesn't always work coming from someone so young. This may have even cost it the Oscar for Best Picture. But overall it is difficult not to like Juno and I see a great future for Ellen Page. Fact is, the whole cast was absolutely stunning, especially Michael Cera and J.K. Simmons. You'll need the tissues for this one but I think it's worth seeing just for the ultrasound scene.
One of the best movies i have ever seen. I love everything about it and the soundtrack is fabulous to.
A really great movie for everyone
Rarely a movie comes along that is so likeable that we never want it to end. The characters are so real and likeable, that we just want to hang out with them. It doesn’t matter whether much is happening or not. Such a gem, is Juno. This movie is the best advertisement I have seen for honesty. Everything about it is honest and true, even the soundtrack of quirky little sing-along numbers. Ellen Page as Juno is flawless. She is only 20 and surely must have a huge career ahead of her. Juno is genuinely funny, genuinely moving and flows as naturally as water. It is a joy to watch. I could have watched it again the moment the end credits started to role. In a season of bleak epics this stands out a ray of light.
A light movie. I didn't like the ending... bit too happy happy for me, but has some lovely funny moments and is definitely a relaxing viewing. However, when I had the opportunity to watch this for a second time for free I didn't.
I absolutely loved this movie. There were a lot of delightful and unexpected elements in this film that made it a truly enjoyable and memorable experience.
To begin with, oh Ellen Page. What a kid. It's great that these kinds of roles have someone as smart, naturally sarcastic and wonderfully "smart ass" as she is to fill them. I actually saw a lot of myself in her character (other than the fact that she was with spawn... thankfully I avoided that high school cliche), and it was awesome to have a teenage girl portrayed in a way that didn't involve a cheerleading outfit, or some kind of horrible, outcast storyline. She was smart, funny, vulnerable and completely likable.
Props have gotta go to Jason Bateman as well, I love the way he played his "trapped" husband. Plus, though at times the "cool" band references felt a little forced (maybe I'm even too elitist for even an indie film? hah!), I loved some of the nods to 90s culture. It's kind of odd that we're getting to a point in time now where referencing 90s is something that can be done. But I digress.
The soundtrack is great, the cast is great, the script is great. The emotion, heart and humor behind every scene had me from beginning to end, and I found myself wanting to watch it again as soon as I left the darkened theatre.
One of the best movies I have seen in ages. Loveable hilarity! Move over Daria, Juno's offbeat humor is here and is sure to be a winner!
First class feel-good movie. Easy to overlook a couple of weak spots because everything else is so good - the actors, the dialogue and the storyline. I want to watch it again.
