Some scary scenes and mild coarse language

Director: Brad Peyton
Actors: Josh Hutcherson, Dwayne Johnson, Vanessa Hudgens, Michael Caine, Kristen Davis, Luis Guzman

The new journey begins when young adventurer Sean (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist—a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson) joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

We liked it, funny, enjoyable, no need to think too hard, cool take on Jules Verne stuff. Cool steampunk submarine.

Good, harmless fun with a surprisingly comedic job by Dwayne Johnson. The premise is undone by completely unrealistic plot twists.

The kids watched five minutes and left as they said it was boring. The movie dragged out a bit and had the standard cliches. First one was passable, this one ok, but glad I did not pay big bucks at the movie cinema

Definitely not a fan of this one. I am a 'Rock' fan but this movie really wasn't that good and I wouldn't even show it to kids. Disappointing.

so very disappointing. The first one with Brendan Fraser was so much better. There was some funny banter between The Rock and Michael Caine, but the movie on a whole was lacking something,it left you wanting more, more action, more story. The first one i could watch again and again, which i have done.I wouldn't bother watching this one again, just very bland

Not bad, if a little silly. It's just a shame the lead teenager is such a prat (note to casting directors: pleeese stop giving him work!).

It wasn't bad. I liked it. 3D was OK. Much more of an adventure film than the first film (Journey to the Centre of the Earth). It combines many classics like 'The Mysterious Island', 'Treasure Island', '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' and 'Gulliver's Travels'. Dwayne Johnson gets a little annoying as he seems to have the answer to everything that gets in their way. Great effects, decent enough story line/easy to follow. A great adventure film that doesn't require much thinking.
