Rather oddball but very watchable movie about a test tube, sorry, petrie dish baby who tracks down his donor father. Another great performance from the tremendous Michael Sheen who, in previous roles, has somehow managed to portray Clough, Blair & Frost convincingly,
So disappointing, can't understand why Toni Collette and Michael Sheen agreed to be part of this terrible movie. It starts off okay and then gets worse and worse. It's full of 'quirky' but pointless details that don't advance the story - the stupid post-it notes that don't fall off in a tornado but blow away when he opens the window!!! So,if Henry as a photographic memory - and he says in the movie, I remember everything I see - why does he have a high IQ? The two are very different. And what's the rubbish about Sheen's surname - and Henry's name? - just filling in huge gaps in the story or it's an inside joke that I didn't get. There are lots of those. The story is weak and could have been covered in 20 mins - the rest is nonsense. It was based on Dennis Lee's Academy Award-winning STUDENT short film and should have remained a short film, it did not translate to a longer movie. Every character is quirky, every action is quirky, every name is quirky. I think they were going for something like Little Miss Sunshine and Moonrise Kingdom - but those two movies barely made it. And I notice that the producer of this is Julia Roberts - what! Only watch if every other DVD has been destroyed. Is there lower than 1 star?
LOVED this story and all the actors were amazing. Toni COLLETTE is again nothing but wonderful in this querky, intellegent movie. 5 stars!!
