Don't expect a level of talent or energy equivalent to something you might have heard from the Australian performance. Half of this English cast delivers a fair theatrical and musical performance. Unfortunately the others make it feel like you're watching something a little better than a high school musical. Especially Jesus. Maybe he was cast in favour of better performers simply because he looked the part.. perhaps...sort a..? Well Mr Webber must have let this one through just for the money. Hire the early 70's version instead.

Musically the best version. The setting took some getting used to but grew on me. Pilate was brilliant. (The older movie filmed in Israel is a real disappointment in comparison.)

It takes some getting used to this new version of the musical. The original movie is one of my absolute favorite. Pilate is brilliant in this version, but I think Judas was portrayed as too much of a bad guy in this one. In the original you can really feel the torment that he felt in having to betray Jesus, and the love and tension between him and Jesus was so much more tangible. Still think it is great!

This movie is a shocker. Musically it is fine but the cast look like they have been dragged from an Oxford St cafe. The show feels like a dress rehearsal but without the dress or setting. If you simply love the music I suggest you play it like a CD then let your imagination do the rest. Your sure to have more drama and excitement than this offering.

A very memorable stage show albeit disappoinment at the surround sounds. A few of old songs that brought back some fond memory dated back more than 20 years ago.

Sensational show - to our surprise the contemporary setting for this rock musical added to the emotions that it invoked with the original. Do not miss this DVD - we mean it.
