Violence, sexual references, drug use and coarse language

Director: Philip Seymour Hoffman
Actors: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Ryan, John Ortiz, Daphne Rubin-Vega

Jack (Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, making his directorial debut) and Connie (Amy Ryan) are two single people who on their own might continue to recede into the anonymous background of New York City, but in each other begin to find the courage and desire to pursue a budding relationship. As Jack and Connie cautiously circle commitment, the couple that introduced them, Clyde (John Ortiz) and Lucy (Daphne Rubin-Vega), confront their own unresolved issues, and each couple comes face to face with the inevitable path of their relationship. Based on the acclaimed Off-Broadway play of the same name, this unconventional romantic comedy is a tale of love, betrayal, friendship and grace.

Couldn't really connect with this Film.I found the Hoffman character too uninteresting, and the overall story to be a bit too slow.

We hated this film. Too slow, too disjointed, too much swearing. Characters were slow too. Sorry I rented this one.

My favourite movie so far, very intelligent and sensitive, and truly "human". Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a legend, this was a challenging role and he was perfect. This will stay in my heart.

I came home from work after a truly crappy day, and watched this film, and it saved my sanity. To see someone on the screen who was pure of heart, and willing to work for what they wanted - in this case the girl - was the exact remedy for my day. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is an actor/director without fear.
