Mild coarse language, mild violence

Actors: Stanley Tucci, Nicolas Cage, Bridget Fonda, Isaac Hayes, Seymour Cassel, J.E. Freeman, Rosie Perez

Charlie (Nicolas Cage) finds himself unable to pay a tip one day. He promises sweet but harassed waitress Yvonne (Bridget Fonda) that if his lottery ticket wins, he will split the proceeds with her! Astonishingly, Charlie does win to the tune of $4 million. Even more astonishingly, he keeps his promise to Yvonne. His wife (Rosie Perez) is furious but the New York press is delighted and shines the media spotlight on this white knight cop and damsel-in-distress waitress!

A good movie but I found the wife played by Rosie Perez to have an extremely annoying voice. Well worth watching though.

As Tania P. says 'a feel good movie'. I saw this ages ago and had to have the DVD. Doesn't matter if it's not realistic. It's a dream many of us share, winning the lottery, with all the ups and downs and shows us community spirit which is live and well in this world. I loved it.

Story line was weak and not enjoyable due to the unrealistic way things happened. It was like someone had a dream and made it into a move.
