A forensic type movie from the 10th century??????? It is a very thoughful and complicated story line and it goes just a little bit too long. The names of the German characters made it just a little bit harder to follow.. However it is well worth the foort involved in watching this movie.

We watched the English dubbed option. The plot is quite complex and unless you speak German, I believe it would have been very hard to follow the plot and read the subtitles. A good plot, full of intrigue. Well acted and directed.

Isenhart is the sherlock of the middle ages. Try watching with the English dubbed over the top, it is hard enough to follow, you can spare yourself the effort of trying to read the subtitles too!

In German with subtitles. A dramatic medieval drama with lots of action. Not bad, but a bit hard to follow the plot at times due to the subtitling and numerous German names.

A thriller/mystery set in the 12thc that for once, doesn't have the good guys vs bad guys. Who was really the bad person was murky and questionable. The sets & costume were excellent and the directing top notch.

‘Isenhart’ is a thriller set in the middle ages, a ‘who done it’ story that, for me, was too contrived. The theory that science is superior to religious beliefs is fundamental to its plot but disappointing that, in the end, superstition is relied upon to prove innocence over guilt blowing the theory apart. The production looks authentic and atmospheric, the acting is ho-hum but the directing is sharp and well paced.

This sets the standard for an intelligent and gripping period movie. Visually it is excellent: a real feeling of time and place.
