Robert Downey Jr. stars as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the story of a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Over the top, disjointed special effects extravaganza. An insult to the troops serving in Afghanistan. A waste of time.

It was allright as the origin movie. I wouldn't say it was my favourite superhero movie, but it was fairly enjoyable.and I liked seeing the different types of armour. A top watch still.

Iron Man is a great adaptation of the comic book hero. Robert Downey Jnr plays a great billionaire philantropist playboy and has all the right one-liners when he gets the bad guys... I love this Movie, Iron Man 2 is just as good... can't wait for the Avengers in 2013!

Pleasantly surprised by how good this is, Downey Junior is perfect for the arrogant Stark and the serious undertones of weapons selling into the wrong hands keeps the story quite real, so to speak. :) A good watch with plenty of action.

One of the more enjoyable superhero films out there and worth watching on blu-ray, we watched this film after I had seen the sequel at the theartre. With Stark one of the strongest personality superheroes I've seen, and the films character driven aproach the film sparkles with personality.
However the focus on Stark sometimes leaves the other characters seeming a little shallow and this is particularly evident in the villains. This is not a Dark Knight where the villain steals the show.
The action is good, but some scenes leave a little to be desired, and it is disapointing that the most intresting action scenes are in the start and middle of the film leaving the ending battle a little anti-climactic. Still aside from this, Iron Man is one of the most watchable films I've seen in a long time, and all three of us (The casual movie go-er, the geek and the rev head who hardly ever watches movie) sat down the next night to watch it again.
Well worth adding to your Queue.

This was surprisingly good, if not a bit cliched but lets face it, its an adaption of a comic, so for whaqt it was its was entertaining, great effects and a bit of light hearted fun.
