Great movie. Just a shame that every copy we had, had problems and we had to watch it over days.

With a minimum of actual screen violence this movie manages to get across the devastation of war.

Slow moving but my husband liked it more than me. Tells of a family who's army son has gone missing. The father traces back his son's movements until he discovers the story behind his disappearance.

Yes, have to agree with most of the reviewers. A great movie. Tells a sad and stark story in a very human way. Great acting. There was a lot going on and lots of points of interest so didn't find it slow. Absorbing would be a better description. Very tight, professional and mature film.

Great movie, totally believeable. Tommy Lee plays a outstandine role as the dad. I liked the way they didn't make anyone out to be a hero, just shows the torment these soldiers are put through. Hard to support a war like this, but what would the world be like without it???

WOW what a movie. Thought provoking and somewhat real. At least the movie world is starting to recognise the anguish soldiers go through on return from war

Great acting and a very realistic portrayalin story and setting. It is slow and you need to concentrate but worth it if you're interested in the theme of war and soldiers when they return home.

A movie that brings home the reality of war. It doesn't end for the soldier when they get home. Their experiences live with them everyday. A must see for anyone who thinks they understand what the armed forces are - this will open your eyes anew.

Definitely not an escapist movie. Shows the dehumanising and destructive effect of war. Didn't enjoy it, although I thought TLJ gave a solid performance. Sad and stark.

A bit long and pedestrian for my tastes. Tommy lee does an excellent job on what is a fairly weak storyline. Charlene looks amazing as usual.

Hard to miss the mark with this cast. Tommy Lee Jones is superb and intense as always. Charlize Theron proves once again that she really can act. Susan Sarandon is wonderful in support.

This movie is for fans of war drama, Charlize Theron and Tommy Lee Jones. It wasn't bad, but I only watched until the end because I wanted to know how it ends.

Tommy Lee Jones' best work by a mile, he is superb in this and Susan Sarandon is finally cast as a woman of her own age. Well worth watching.

Good story and not what you would think, typical Tommy Lee Jones character but I'm a fan so I like his movies but kept me interested right to the end.

this is a terrific movie , Tommy Lee Jones , gets better as he gets older . This was a terific story of the struggle Soldiers have after coming back after a tour of duty . TLJ plays a great role as the concerned parent ; ex -GI. It certainly was an oscar winning performance. Miss Theron puts in a great support role as detective on the case. A must watch DVD.

Wife & I enjoyed this movie. Quality acting from Jones, Theron, and Sarandon made for a slow but emotive murder mystery based on a true story. (The parents of the victim are interviewed in the 'extras.' Very sad.) Obviously America has not learnt from their vietnam experience and still send 20 year olds to war BUT then does little for them when some returned totally screwed up mentally & physically. PS Note why the flag is placed upside down at the end of the movie, relevant to the state of America in some States at the moment.

This DVD was in my queue for over a year before it was sent, unfortunately I found it very slow and it struggled to keep my attention. I thought the last scene was appropriate.

I really enjoyed this. I could get what this Dad must have been going through, my family has an arm forces history and my older brother is currently in Afghanistan. I will never know the things they have seen and are seeing. BUt as a parent you will never want to see the worst in your child either! Good movie!

Extremely poignant final scene, which is a follow up to a side issue at the start of the film and effectively independant of the story, an appraisal that the entire country is in a crisis so dire that it is incapable of helping itself. As a whodunnit it is almost unique as for the longest time you don't even know what was done. Excellent use of pace, something you seldom see in any film.

A movie that has been done before. Excellent performances by Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron. Quite slow to get to the plot and a little anti-climax.

Intriguing mystery involving the American military, battle fatigue, stress, the inability to really talk about feelings. Charlize Theron is excellent. The last scene says it all. Who will help us?

Depressing at parts and other than Charlize Theron and Tommy Lee Jones, no one else is on the screen. Worth a look, but don't expect to be blown away. Look out for Josh Brolin as the police chief before his career defining role in 'No Country for Old Men'.

Excellent movie. TLJ is always a stand out and this movie is no exception. A solid movie with an insight to what our soldiers go through and live with for the rest of their lives. It certainly leaves you thinking.

A fine performance by Tommy Lee Jones as usual and another good performance by Charlize Theron. Seeing this film was based on fact it is obvious that the soldiers aren't getting the help they need to cope with the horrors of war. Their government needs to rectify that. It is the least they can do for people who are prepared to risk their lives for their country.

Let's face it, 'Crash' was crass. But Paul Haggis' second directorial outing is vastly more masterful. Beautifully paced, tight performances from flawlessly cast seasoned actors and new performers, suggest the 'true casualty of war is humanity'. Don't forget to check out the story behind the movie.
