Time as currency? Interesting concept but this movie fails to pull it off with dozens of glaring holes in the workings of this concept. Still, the lead actors put in a great performance and the action and intensity makes it a good watch.
Couldn't really get in to it although there were a couple of moments that struck me.
good story line, perfect genre for me, although i was a little let down in some parts
At first glance of the title and theme, I thought I had accidentally ordered a movie that we had already seen (I forget the title); so we were expecting to switch it off moments later! Such is the theme of this movie that others have already made films like it. We were very surprised though, in that we had not seen it at all. So - a great (if not original) theme; excellent acting and story-line. I loved it and would have given it a 5; my wife a 4 - so lets call it a 4.5. Steve
Awesome movie with a different twist, great because not run of the mill story line.
A fast-paced science fiction romp that entertains sporadically but adds little of substance to the genre. The tropes here are well-worn (see Logan's Run for example), and although Timberlake can certainly act he seems miscast as an action hero. Ultimately, however, the major weakness lies in the script, which betrays a dismal lack of intellectual rigor. After all, the whole point of money is that my time isn't necessarily worth the same as yours.
I doubt Robin Hood ever said "Time is Money" but in this alternate reality action sci-fi everyone is saying it. In "In Time" Justin Timberlake as Will Salas puts in a strong performance. The reviewer enjoyed the premise that time is a currency, and the flow-down effects across different classes, or "time zones". The plot line will not present any surprises, and the depiction of the world trading in time is reasonably convincing if familiar (the drains of LA again?).
If we all had a count-down running on our arms, would we spend the time to watch this movie? That depends...
Very polarising. This is a "what if" movie that invites you to speculate on what it would be like if time really were money. The open minded will be drawn into the movie's re-interpretation of themes like social justice within a more directly consequential context. However those looking to zone out with the typical hollywood gloss and hand-holding will be disappointed.
Not good as I was expected.
Awesome movie :) Love the concept of the movie with time being the currency ... its Like a future version of Robin Hood ! Steal from the right, give to the poor from the corrupt system. Well worth watching !
brilliant.highly reccomend
In time is a complete waste of my time...give me my money back!!! Predictable from start to end
Amazing and unique film! So far, my favourite film of 2011.
