This is a documentary on Beethoven's life and music. It's very good for anyone interested in the man who created the magnificent music. I learned many things, some surprising, about his life. It makes me appreciate the music more.
This is an interesting story, but at nearly two and a half hours, we started hitting the FF button. The most interesting segment was on Beethoven's premier of the 6th and 5th Symphonies, with Beethoven playing a pianoc concerto in between.
Otherwise the section on the 9th was lacking, could have heard a lot more about that.
An incisive homage to the most humanitarian and noble of all composers.
I am rating this a 2 because it was stated that it was a unique motion picture, yet it was a documentary with interviews and a reading of some letters written by Beethoven himself.
His music obviously features prominantly and each concerto, symphony and opus are discussed, whilst they are played by various Beethoven experts. I would have far preferred a movie with a script...... too long and fairly boring......
