Witness the epic battle as mere men become Immortals. Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares. Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king’s hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion…until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope. Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes. Rallying a band of fellow outsiders-including visionary priestess Phaedra (Freida Pinto) and cunning slave Stavros (Stephen Dorff)-one hero will lead the uprising, or watch his homeland fall into ruin and his Gods vanish into legend. The 3-D epic adventure Immortals is directed by revolutionary visualist Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) and produced by Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton, the producers of 300, as well as Ryan Kavanaugh (Dear John, The Dark Fields).

A bit too brutal and gory for me but my husband who enjoys tv shows like Game of Thrones and Spartacus, this was a good movie for him.

Greek mythology was real to the Greeks thousands of years back. I fail to see how they could have made up such a foolish concept though? Gods that can die - so not that powerful - evil continually battling in the Heavens, so that there's no real difference between heaven and earth?? Anyway - the movie - as pure fantasy was great as far as I was concerned, great effects and sound (in Blu-Ray). Mickey Rourke who has had some really sad roles fills this one perfectly, makes a fantastic evil Hyperion. My wife thought the movie was only 2 Stars - I gave it 4. Steve

I don't mind these Greeky/Romany (no not the Gypsies) Mytho genre movies and the story, the sound and vision in this one was pretty good but the acting Ugh give me a break! The Hero (Henry Cavill) was as wooden as a Trojan horse although his personal trainer should get an oscar for doing such a great job of physically ramping up old wooden Henry from his equally wooden days in the Tudors series (qualified good stuff HBO). Mickey Rourke has taken some blows and is a passable evil guy dispensing evilly evil on a fairly consistent basis. Coming from a position of ignorance on the true to story mythology I cannot comment on the storyline but as a movie it bubbles along - think Lord of The Rings movie three.

There is very little positive to say about this movie. Although a good storyline, it had an unnecessary level of violence with many very graphic scenes. Add this to average acting, some badly cast people and unconvincing costumes (particularly for the gods) and there is not much good to say about this movie. Other movies of a similar genre have carried this off much better.

I have read lot's of bad reviews of this film; It isn't total garbage, but it's nowhere near as good as 300.

Story was a little crap. But artistically and visually. Quite good. Only reason it gets 3 stars really. If you aren't a fan of Tarsem Singh. Probably not for you. One of his weaker movies.
