Did not enjoy this movie. Way too weird for me. Acting was good but left too many "what the" questions at the end of the movie for me to enjoy.

It was different but enjoyable all the same. I wonder how the movie would have been if Heath had not died during the making of it :( But this movie was sent to me twice in a row

A strange movie. Very dark. Kids had trouble following it. Although it was good to see the other actors take over for Heath Ledger when he died before finishing the movie.

There are a number of BIG names in this movie. I confess that the main reason I was interested in watching it was because Johnny Depp was one of those names. I was disappointed, however, as Depp only appears briefly. Another point is that this movie is Heath Ledger's last, before he died. That was another reason I wanted to watch it. The movie was made with the purpose of being different, something no-one has ever done before. It definitely achieves this goal... but I just think that it was a little TOO different. The best way to describe this movie is, weird. I still don't understand half of what I saw. So, if you like puzzles or surrealism, this movie is for you. But if you're like me and you just wanted to watch Johnny Depp, this movie will disappoint you.

Visually attractive but rather weird. We were also confused about the changing appearance of the Heath Ledger character until we found out that it wasn't all Ledger due to his death during filming!

I loved this movie. And I loved how it confused me a little and made me think about things more and that I want to watch it again. I also think it was terrific how imaginative the directors were themselves when they were faced with Heath's death and an unfinished film. They way they handled it actually worked in the film's favour surprisingly.

The first half of this movie was really slowly paced with boring dialogue and depressing circus acts but when Heath Ledger's Tony FINALLY leads people through the mirror door to the Imaginarium world, then things really kick off. The 3 leads playing Tony did a great job carrying on Heath Ledger's role, despite him passing far too soon. The visuals are really surreal and wacky but fun and exciting. It's a shame the first half couldn't be as engaging as the fantasy elements.

I only watched this because it was Heath Ledgers last film. I found this a bit confusing and not really my kind of movie. I think the fact that it is confusing, having several actors to play Heath's character probably worked to their advantage.

Terry Gilliam has finally produced a movie that draws on all of his earlier experiments ( Jabberwocky ) and works. It is a fantastic lush production with brilliant visuals and engaging performances. A must see

Christopher Plummer is great and its nice to see Heath on screen, but this movie is too long and convoluted. The cameos from Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell are fun, but the whole story is a bit whacky.

There is something alluring about the iconic late 19th century side show alley lifestyle on which this movie revolves around. Not sure why visions of an eccentric, odd, misfit ,gypsy freakshow are so intruiging. The movie is certainly disjointed , difficult to follow, wierd and incomprehensible, as other member reviews have noted. But it is nevertheless an act of escapism to watch it and experiencing the boundless outpourings of imagination are worth the effort.

Its a shame that most of the people who reviewed this movie lacked exactly what the whole story was about... an imagination. The title should have warned them away. Clever story, brilliant special effects and the calibre of acting was completely what it should have been for this wonderful bit of escapism and fun. I'm so glad my old mind is still capable of seeing what is beyond "real".

Dr. Parnassus played by The Sound of Music's Christopher Plummer is a magician of different kind. Set in the modern world, those who encounter Dr. Parnassus, his daughter and two assistants have little respect or inclination for the show the troupe offer. That is until they rescue Tony, who is played by the late Heath Ledger in his last movie role. Tony helps Dr. Parnassus revitalize the show, and captures the heart of his daughter. Unbeknownst to them all Dr. Parnassus holds many secrets and the increase in business comes at an opportune time; however Tony also is not all he seems either... Excellent special effects, however given it is Ledger's last offering it may disappoint his fan base. The assistance of Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell after Ledgers death was introduced cleverly by the film makers. R.I.P. Mr Ledger.

Interesting! Unusual and imaginative - the costumes and scenery were a delight for the imagination. It's really a fantasy with a theme of good and evil, selling out to the devil for short term benefit which has been done a million times but this version is worth looking at if you enjoy magical realism. I was entertained.

So nice to see a different movie for a change! i really enjoyed this movie and was taken up by it. It is eerily how they managed to be able to replace heath and make it look like that was the way the movie was always meant to be. I can see how this might not be for everyone, but I found it magical, thought-provoking, and beautiful to watch

When I first saw the advertisement for this film in the cinema I was really excited to see it. Then I read a mixture of reviews and was a little disappointed that the critics didn't really seem to be that impressed by it. I decided to watch it anyway and make up my own mind and now I am glad that I did because I really enjoyed this film from start to finish and look forward to seeing it again.I think I may even buy a copy of this one. All of the actors were brilliant - including some of the smaller roles. I just wish there was more of Johnny Depp - his screen time was too short!

Not really PG so watch with caution with children under age 14. Hype excused from the impact of having special 'guest' actors, this movie was enjoyable. The added charactors made sense within the plot of the movie which was based on upon the eternal struggle between good and evil. worth a look.

This was a very interesting movie, strange in parts but none the less something to get your imagination going. Heath was great. As for Johnny Depp he was great as usual.. Mmmh ... I was SO looking forward to seeing this (I love Terry Gilliam;s work), however I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It was very disjointed and just didn't seem to flow. However I did enjoy it, particularly from the odd character aspect and the magic caravan set. It was (as is usual for Terry Giliam) quite strange (which is good!) but it just let me down a little with the frenetic pace and somewhat disorganised filming. Certainly not a movie for everyone ... but if you like weird stuff, give it a go.
