Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He's so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so embarrassing - the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman, Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life "bad boy," and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for. Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny's puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel's growing frustration. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality. It's time for these small-town cops to break out some big-city justice.

It started well - interesting cutting and good British character acting (which the Brits do so well) but it was way too long and the violence at the end was very childish

Classic British comedy again. Very appealing of course to anyone who liked Shaun of the Dead or Paul. This may be better than those two films?

This movie was hysterical, Sean Pegg is a genius. Rather then being a the anti hero as he is so often cast in this Sean has written himself a character that is, meticulous, moral and somehow totally loveable and his intellectually challenged side kick is adorable to watch, one of those movies I know I will watch again and again!

Easily the second strongest work by this team after Sean of the Dead. It contains the same magic mix of tribute and satire, but then inserts honest characterization and story. And there's not a moment wasted - compelling from beginning to end..

Some good parts in the movie and it's obvilously a send up on all the overdone action fils but what could have been a good comedy was way too long and becomes very boring.

Fantastic. Plays heavily on the old "Only sane man in a world full of morons" gag for much of the laughs, but that's always a reliable premise, and it does it with flair and originality. Much of the film is a set-up to for all the punchlines to come thick and heavy in the final twenty minutes, but it's well worth the wait.

Funny. Because it makes fun of itself and this genre of film. If it were a serious example of the genre it would flop but because its satirical the one liners work.

Simon Pegg is as dry as a cracker and a complete crack up in this riotously funny Britcom Fuzzflick. With a cast of gazillions and from the team that brought us Shaun of the Dead, we're guaranteed a cack or three... Imagine Frank Oz's Stepford Wives have been living in Royson Vasey... Yep, it'd take Pegg's Top Of His Class character Nick Angel to clean up a bit. And he and his loyal and endearingly bumbling but dedicated partner, played by Nick Frost, have quite the time mopping the blood off the floor, and the roads, and the Church Fete to make the sleepy little village of Sandford worthy of it's self aggrandising annual title of "model village," and all whilst on the lookout for a wayward swan. There's a mine of tongue in cheek wit in this film just builds and builds; script, acting, direction and production. The disc itself is packed with extras that are well worth a peek, too. Clealry the whole cast and crew had a blast in the making of, and it shows in the final cut. I enjoyed this film so much, I rushed out to buy a copy. Watch out, spooky sleepy hollow, the Hot Fuzz'll getchya! Riotously recommended.

If you like British humour, you'll understand how 'they' don't take themselves seriously and can 'take the mickey' on just about anything. I loved this movie, all the subtleties and in-jokes. Just brilliant. Laughed all the way - neighbours must've wondered how I could laugh when the sound-track was all guns and explosions. You had to be there.

Comedy only as the British can make - I think there is a strong case to ban Americans from making comedies and only have comedy from Britain. Side splitting humour, this will assist if you are feeling low.

I've watched this movie a few times now, and it just gets funnier every time I see it! It's a silly/dorky comedy, but the british really do have a great sense of humour, you can't help but be entertained. Will probably watch again soon! Better than Shaun of the Dead (same actors, same sort of style) and definitely smarter.

Another excellent movie from the fine folk at Working Title, who also did Shaun of the Dead, Bridget Jones' Diary, and Love Actually, to name but a few. There are moments that seem reminiscent of Shaun of the Dead, but maybe that's just small town syndrome! An interesting storyline that's a great twist on the classic whodunit, as well as a fantastic display of why Brits Do It Better, it would be a crying shame not to see this movie!

Brilliant deadpan performance from the lead. Ace London copper steps on too many toes and gets sent to a tiny village where his pedantic ways conflict with the "softly softly" country approach until he uncovers the village's darker secrets. This is basically a cop show spoof, but the lead plays it dead straight. Quite funny in bits, amusing through most of it and keeps you entertained for its near 2 hour length. Probably a bit better than just a 3.

Unlike most people I was a little let down by this movie. I think the best part is what you see in the trailer. It tries to mix comedy and action thriller and ends up doing one or the other rather averagely. I don’t know I just don’t like it when a movie changes genre half way through. Don’t want to come across as a grouch but it didn’t live up to what I was expecting.

Seemed very promising at the start, but very quickly became tiresome. An over-the-top slapstick style was established firmly at the start then seemed to have nowhere else to go. It lacked the subtlety and nuance we'd normally expect from British comedy.

Fantastic 'fish out of water' comedy that both celebrates and subverts action movie cliches. The humour is dry but should appeal to most Australians, especially those familiar with the various action/buddy cop movies it pays tribute to. However, the highlights are the bonus materials - particularly 'Hot funk' (made for TV, no swearing), the director's cut trailer, and the options during the film, such as 'fuzz facts' and commentaries . A must see.

funniest buddy/cop film i,ve seen for ages, great to see some old english talent being put to good use here, especially billie whitelaw whom i fondly remember from the original omen (she was the evil nanny mrs baylock). the humour between the two lead actors is terrific + i love the way the film pays homage to some earlier films like dirty harry and some of sergio leone,s westerns, the gore is first class that scene below the church tower is a classic, and the final shoot-out is fantastic. if you like funny fast action films you,ll love this one. TIP. if you click on the "fuzz-facts" icon on the bonus features screen, the movie will play with interesting behind the scenes facts running at the bottom of your screen.

This one grows on you, gradually getting better as the story unfolds, with punch lines hitting you from jokes set up earlier. When it was suggested an appreciation of English humour was needed was expecting (and hoping for the warped comedy of Big Train or League of Gentleman) but it's more subtle along the lines of Sean of the Dead.

A London police officer is transferred to a quiet village in England for no other reason than he is showing up the rest of the force because of his dedication to his job and his excellent track record. In his new job he finds it hard to relax his strict views on how the law should be administered to a village where nothing ever happens and this is were the fun begins. While not a comedy for the faint of heart, this is a very funny movie and shows once again how the English are truly masters of comedy.
