An outrageous and over-the-top journey that tears apart false mysticism and religious ideology. Funded by John Lennon, The Holy Mountain is a visual masterpiece, an iconic cult classic of surreal and bizarre imagery. A powerful group of individuals led by The Alchemist (played by Jodorowsky) undertake a quest for enlightenment that pits illusion against truth. A surreal flood of sacrilegious imagery and existential symbolism, The Holy Mountain created a scandal at the 1973 Cannes Film Festiva.

They don't make films like that anymore! A surrealist classic of its time. Very nice restoration as well.

we put this on while having a drink with some friends. kept it on mute while playing some music on the stereo in the background. full of great visuals, but the story was a little thin to keep interest by purely watching the movie. was great background on the big screen whilst we were having a mini party. would be good for dj to have on a projector during a gig.

Absolute rubbish, no matter what the Dendy crowd would have you believe. Somewhere between disgusting and pointless: an ongoing, disjointed collection of attempts at religious and social symbolism. Rather like a student movie where an unsupervised group of wannabes have been given unlimited access to props and costumes and then tried to make something startling and witty. The end result, while it rhymes with 'witty' is convoluted tripe of the lowest order that simply isn't worth your time, however little you care to devote to this mindless garbage.
