I dont recall ordering this and I have no idea why anyone would want to. We lasted about 10 minutes and sent it back. it looked totally boring, slow and would probably have been the longest 100 minutes of my life if I had of watched it.

This movie, although well acted and insightful is purely descriptive and does not lead anywhere. I have no idea what its purpose is and what its message, if any, is trying to convey.

At first I thought I was about to see a religious movie. But in time it developed into a story of a group of people who are enveloped in a highly controlling religious sect. In time one woman breaks the mould and has to leave her family. A bit slow.

This movie was interesting but not terribly enthralling viewing. The main problem is the lack of narrative drive, at the end of the film you'll remember parts of it but won't know the point of it all.
You can't fault the acting or the direction (especially being Vera Farmiga's first directorial effort) but that doesn't make for a very satisfying movie.

Just fantastic. Vera Farmiga is both a great actor and director. Totally engrossing. Not for all, I'm sure, as it is slow. And while it isn't a movie that is critical of religion, it certainly highlights the characters struggles with her faith.
