Exactly like the book to the word.... A really great movie, even if you-know-who has a nose...

An imaginative and fun family adventure. The acting is a little bit wooden and the screenplay has a lot of cheesy lines, but at least they improved on this in the later films. A great start to a great franchise.

This movie is a fun adventure for the whole family, but it is not childish. The similarities and differences between the wizard school and a normal school are very cleverly defined and are very amusing. The sets and characters are superb, and the ending should appeal to school-goers, when as a reward for triumph, our heroes get points for their house. What's more there is always heaps to eat!

Despite a terrific adult cast and a generally good junior one, I gave up after about an hour and twenty minutes. All the ingredients were there, but it lacked punch and in fact was basically a bit boring. I won't bother with others in the series now.

Such a good start to the series. Have to admit I like the more recent, darker movies in the series more, but this is more suitable for the littlies. The Poms do such a good job of this type of thing; if you like HP check out The Dark Is Rising too.

I really enjoy the Harry Potter series. It is great for adults too, aren't we all boys at heart?

Another good Harry Potter film. But just like the first movie, not a patch on the book. Make sure you read the book to really get to know harry and his friends.

Not too bad, but let's face it - it's the story of a snotty nosed little magic man who just can't keep out of strife. How good could it possibly be?

Just the sort of fantasy to take your mind off other things. NFMA (not for mature adults).
