I haven't read the books. I enjoyed the previous Potter movies. I enjoy fantastical movies and high quality films (Pan's Labyrinth etc).
This movie marks the crashing descent into boring rushed mediocrity and nonsense that underpins the rest of the series.
I assume that all of the plot details and intrigue that are missing, referred to in passing, or merely inferred about - are treated with loving detail in the books and would have made the back half of the Potter Series bearable.
Avoid. Just pretend the series stopped at Goblet of Fire and save yourself the disappointment.
Just like the Saw franchise - if you stopped at Saw 2 you keep the enjoyment intact - if you kept going, watching in hope that quality would return, it just leaves you hollow, frustrated and bored.
Should have been made into two movies. Too much detail has been lost.
A little too much reliance on effects and a massive emphasis on the more teenage qualities, but nothing unforgivable. This isn't a perfect Harry Potter film, but at least it gave us David Yates, potentially the best director who has worked on these films. Great movie, but not the best.
As usual good to watch only my 8 year old is starting to sgut his eyes in parts, but still loves it.
I wish they would at least try to have it similar to the book, the amount of things they left out, whilst making up other things to make it more "entertaining"... Grrr... thank god they've split the last one
This was pushing at the three star mark. Not the best of the Harry Potter Series, but good enough for any Harry Potter fan!
have all the harry potter films at home. is a favourate of my sons and is a movie that my husband and i can watch with him.
Oh Harry what happened? I couldn't get into this. Story was too slow and convoluted. Won't be rushing to watch the others.
All of these movies are great
Love the Harry Potter movies, though they can't put the entire book in a movie, they do a damn good job.
HEaps good!!
Being a huge fan of the books, the whole series are part of my favourite movies list :)
It was one of the best Harry Potter movies I had seen. Suspense and thrilling the music also made the movie.
Although the book is always better than the movie it is still worth watching the Harry Potter series. Great movie! Well made!
quite good. the story may be too rush but still good for bood reader!
I enjoyed watching this movie, but as a lover of the books - I find all the Harry Potter movies a tad disappointing.
5th movie in the series. Didn't find this as enjoyable as the others.
Enjoyable movies. The acting gets better with each installment.
a great movie. though they are getting a little on the dark side, it is still one of the best in the series.
Haven't read the books but I turned the first movie off as it was boring me. I removed the next two from my queue and didn't watch this or the previous one.
Yet another great instalment in the series. Love seeing the cast growing and developing, and the nuances of relationships between characters, new and old. One of the few times I can say that I have enjoyed the movie adaptation as much as the book series.
Terrific movie especially for the Potter fans
As always like all of the other harry potter movies the order of the this is a great move.phoenix is a great movie.
As a lover of the Harry Potter books, the movies will never be as good for me. There were some parts of the movie that made me think "that shouldn't of happened, it wasn't in the book." On the otherhand, it was great to see what was previously just words on paper, come to life on screen!
The Order of the Phoenix is the longest book at over 700 pages, so this movie was bound to have the most cut out of the story.
On the whole, it was an enjoyable movie. One to watch numerous times.
I just love the Harry Potter movies and this is the same. I just enjoy them so much I just want to see it over and over.
Worth watching for fans of the series. The last 20 minutes makes this movie.
Great to watch again. The quality of English moved a new Australian accomanying me to comment how much it helped him to grasp the intricacies of our language.
thought it was a great film
A lot darker "Harry", but a step forward from the previous effort. Doesn't really advance the story all that much, and as for that kiss, it seems totally superfluous and tacked on with no apparent context or relevance.
not bad. a bit slow compared to the others. still worth watching tho.
Not too bad a movie. Seemed to wander a bit though.
Another excellent Potter movie. Lovers of Harry won't be disappointed.
Brilliant, must be the only multi sequel movie that seems to get it right!
Would watch it again.
greatmovie very entertaining and easy to watc
Seems to go for ever!!..not as good as the previous..same old storyline where Harry and he who shall not be named come to grips with the usual Hogwash shennanigans..a B grade movie
Very good, nearly as good as the book.
Lovely movie but not as good as the previous ones.
Not for the littlies at all, very adult horror themes, plot line is vauge and disjointed Could not find a lot to say about this effort, it has moved so far away from the original idea of fun for kids to watch, it seems they have tried to chase an audience into teenagehood and lost the plot almost totally,
Good movie, but I would advise if you're considering reading the book then can I suggest that you watch the movie first. I did it the other way around, and have to say I was slightly disappointed in the fact that what I considered to be important parts of the story were nowhere to be seen.
Having said that though, it really is a well made movie, just disappointed in the final cut that was shown in theatres.
Disappointing, which is a surprise because the book was one of the most enjoyable. It was cunky, hard to follow, and dark (actors in dark clothes in dark rooms, etc). My favourite characters were hardly in it (Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snape, Luna) and it went on too long. I hope the next installment improves or I'm ready to ditch the series.
the movie was great, fantastic special effects. i would recommend it be watched by children 10 years old and above as there are some scary moments. my 13 year old loved it.
loved it, it will never be as good as the book but the did do it justice!!!!!
was great cant for the next 1 ........ thers another 1 right ???
I felt this member of the Potter series was a bit "same ole same ole" feel about it. It is however quite enjoyable and it is always good to see the development of the characters.
I thought the movie was great as usual with all the fantasy one could only imagine as a child. If you are a Harry Potter fan this chapter is great in the series.
Wow another great harry potter movie, great special effects and a great escape from reality for a few hours!!
The magic is going out of Potter for me. All getting a bit tired. Never read the books, so the storyline of the previous books/movies isn't terribly ingrained in my mind. Had to stop the movie and an online synopsis of a couple of the previous movies get some idea what was going on. e.g. Cedric character...not a clue who that was and had to go back to Goblet Of Fire to find a reference to him. Think sitting down to read the books before the final movie might be a good idea otherwise a lot of references will be lost on me.
I liked it but have enjoyed the others more but good watching
The Fifth year for Harry Potter and pretty much a good quality movie like the four before this movie, must see for Potter fans and good film for the whole family.
Not as good as some of the other movies I've seen.
As with all the Harry Potter Movies I enjoyed this one immensley. Can't wait for the next one.
It was a bit boring.....I fell asleep. Would probably be enjoyed by Harry Potter fans though.
same old , same old- needs to retire, lost the plot. Rate it one for the visuals only.
Didn't think it was good as the preceeding movies. Quite dark and heavy. Still worth watching though
Not really impressed. This didn't have a very good plot. It just sorted ended without going anywhere.
Highly recommended film-if you like the Harry Potter books you should like this movie.
Another fantastic installment in the Harry Potter series. It was truly 'magic'!
I truly enjoyed this movie.
Another excellent Harry Potter movie
once again they have done an excellent job. Felt it was lacking in some places if you have read the book. although having said this still a great movie to watch and well worth a look. the kids all enjoyed. look forward to the next movie.
Fantastic, special effects were excellent!!
ok I guess, a bit less action than i expected for harry
loved this movie one of the best yet
One of the better Harry Potter movie's that is well worth watching.
Tops!! Better than the last.
Very enjoyable. A superior script and good editing make this the easiest to follow and most logical Harry Potter so far. Good character development as the characters grow up made this an interesting film, although it has fewer whiz bang effects etc than the others
Excellent movie for the whole family. Another of the Harry potter great and fantastic movies full of action, drama, and magic.
didnt enjoy it as much as the rest ,but worth watching
A great story though somewhat pruned considering the size of the novel it comes from. My how Harry's grown up!
A bit of a slow start. I didn't enjoy it as much as the others.
This was really enjoyable. The scenes at the Ministry of Magic were really well done. The kids (teens??) are getting much better in their roles - especially Daniel Radcliffe.
As usual, a good movie. Great story, great acting, should have more movies like this! Great for the kids.
Good Movie...Bit rushed through the blot
