It still has the same negatives of the first film, but thankfully it has the same positives too and they're done to an even higher standard. Overall, it isn't a perfect film, but it's a much better movie than the first and the direction of Chris Columbus was history after this. I'm glad he made these two films what they were and then stopped there.

There is no doubt that the movies production value is high but that's all that is good about it. The acting is stilted and wooden (especially from Radcliffe) and the script just falls in love with dues ex machina at every turn. Most of the characters are badly portrayed and the bloody elf is excruciatingly annoying. If you can keep questions like 'why don't they just shut the school down?' or 'how does a 50ft snake slide through pipes throughout the school and not be seen or heard?' then you might have fun with this. Oh, and the ending scene completely boggles my mind.. what the... (real cringe inducing stuff..)

This is an excellent movie, maybe a little scary for youngsters, with humungus spiders and basilisks etc., but great fun in every other way. Those kids are like fine wine, improving well with age, while Kenneth Branagh is outstanding as Gilderoy Lockhart. Definitely on my to-watch-again list.

A little more for the older kids, this second Harry Potter movie is more darker and scarier this time around, The special effects are great and this takes off from the first movie. Great.

I really liked this one. I thought it was much better than the first Harry Potter movie. I seemed to get more involved with all the characters this time.
