Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (Atonement; The Lovely Bones) stars as Hanna in this action-packed suspense-thriller about a girl who was brought-up to be the perfect assassin. Raised and trained by her father (Eric Bana,) an ex-CIA agent, Hanna is sent out into the world on a mission. As she travels across Europe, Hanna is pursued by agents working for a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence.

There's something interesting at work here, but I'm not sure I "got it". Don't go in expecting a kick-ass action movie. (Oh, and The Chemical Brothers music is REALLY annoying in the movie)

Was very impressed with this movie. The cinematography was creative without being too arty. The whole film is an excellent mix of real, in terms of real events occuring within the story, and the surreal with interwoven fairy tale elements. Overall, the film is very watchable: it's something different than the usual Hollywood-styled spy chase thriller.

Had so much potential with great locations, great cinematography and the magic of Soairse Ronan but lacking in tying up ends that were left dangling from the beginning, weak plot but not terrible to watch. Would be interested in seeing the director tackle another action movie.

Enjoyable, querky movie about a super human young girl, created and trained to be an expert CIA agent with an unknowing creation. Its style reminded me a little of "Kill Bill" and "Run Lola Run". Superb performances, plenty of action, great music. The young girl was exceptional as too was Cate Blanchett.

Very interesting movie, kept me watching - I quite enjoyed this one. The little lead actress did a great job in her role. Eric Bana is always a surprise as to how good an actor he is (keep expecting him to do something tongue in cheek a'la the old days). Cate is wonderful in any role and this is no different.

The early setting in the Arctic environment gave a suitable character development of Hanna & Erik (father). It also set the scene to demonstrate Hanna's highly skilled combat talents. The movie then shifted to other locations and took on a stop/start direction. But when the action did get going it was fast paced and brilliantly accompanied by the Chemical Brothers techno soundtrack. Hanna found company on her journey with a hippie/van family and this gave the flick a nice touch. I just loved Saoirse Ronan. Her accent & speech mannerism was mesmerising. Very athletic too. Eric Bana & Cate Blanchett were both convincing and first class. Any plot & plausibility issues were overcome with the high quality of the action & cinematography.

Some exuberant action sequences can't disguise a erratic script, a lack of narrative focus and what appears to be some fairly heavy-handed editing with little regard for the film's flow. The key players try hard but 'Hanna' is all a bit of mess really.

refreshing intriguing movie. i thoroughly enjoyed this title, not over-done, not under-done no nonsense good entertainment. Tough, without the special effects jargon. recomended viewing (not for kids, parent discretion advised).......... we don't want 'little hitmen' running around everywhere!

I liked this movie more than I thought I would based on some of the reviews I read here. It has plenty of action, but the story gets lost at some points and there are some unanswered questions (perhaps I looked away and missed it) like why the program was cancelled, why Eric came to the rescue etc. Overall a good night's entertainment, don't look at it to be the greatest movie of all time, merely a way to while a way a few hours enjoyably.

A skillful blend of atmosphere action and tension; the unlikely plot is balanced by taut acting performances, seamless direction and just the right amount of special effects and film wizardry. It's saving grace above all are the way the characters convince you that they are real; Eric Bana is exceptional!

Yeah it is weird, and unique... I liked it. Bad ending though - it really didnt do the rest of the movie justice as it definately needed to lead somewhere and the ending just killed the movie.... its like they didnt know how to finish it. But the first 3/4 of the movie I think was quite creative.

A strange movie, one where you cannot be entirely sure where it is headed, imo.
The scenery at the start is stunning and the girl playing Hanna is strikingly beautiful. I found the 1st hour or so riveting but then it began to lose the plot and it started to stretch out like it never wanted to end. Considering Hanna is trained to perfection in the art of killing, the small blonde German man chasing her never makes sense. Even I could have taken him out. Worth watching for the action.

The type of movie you wish you could see for the first time all over again. The storyline is unique and the actors are well cast. A great balance between fast paced action with awesome stunts and a mesmerising drama. ADD IT TO YOUR QUEUE.

Was expecting a fast paced action movie so was a disappointed. Pace was quite slow and some of the characters and plotlines were too much of a cliche to me that there was no real sense of suspense anymore. I couldnt figure out if Joe Wright wanted to create a real action movie or a romantic drama with some action in it.

Very disappointed in this movie. I have been looking forward to seeing it for months and have been left with a nagging sense of: was that it? This had so much potential with the great actors, but in parts it was stupid and disjointed. Some action and fights scenes were just unbelievably implausible and clearly choreographed. I tend to watch movies a few times to see bits I may have missed that add to the story. I won't even bother with this. Blanchett and Bana made their worst movie here, but I liked Ronan.

I was expecting a bit more out of this, but it really felt disjointed and lacking something. Starts off quite promising, but it never really develops on that. The henchmen in Berlin don't help the story at all, and I couldn't get into Cate Blanchett's character. Eric Bana was fine and Saorise Ronan (what a glorious name) is very good.

The film is worth watching once as the premise is good enough, but reeaallyy disappointed with Eric and Cates performance. For a ruthless agent, Cate looks VERY nervous and uncomfortable holding a gun. Eric is supposed to be this 'toughed it out in the mountains' kickass agent and his fighting style was so sloppy and he took way too many hits.
Accents are good though so happy with that. A few 'treat the audience like they are idiots' screen shots were dissapointing as im sure we could figure out why the fall happened without 3 close ups of the heels.
However, I did like that all the locations were different than the normal hollywood choices and the family with the van was a nice sub story.

Excellent trailer, film not as good. I liked the premise, the fish out of water stuff was funny, and Eric Bana out acted Cate Blanchett. However, too many music video montages especially in action scenes distanced me from the film. Screenplay needed another draft.

The plot is so unrealistic it is ridiculous. Im a Cate Blanchett fan but she fails to deliver. The poor script doesnt help and I am surprised that she too the role. Most of the baddies are miscast.
