Grown-ups, starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, is a comedy about five friends and former team-mates who reunite years later to honor the passing of their childhood basketball coach. With their wives (Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph) and kids in tow, they spend the Fourth of July holiday weekend together at the lake house where they celebrated their championship years earlier. Picking up where they left off, they discover why growing older doesn't mean growing up.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I've been a bit put off by Sandler of late (didn't enjoy Funny People at all and I find Chris Rock a bit hit and miss) so I did go into this a little skeptically. I was happily disappointed. I found something touching about the mateship between the main characters, and hilarity in the comedic insults so freely thrown around. It was comforting, familiar, like hanging around with a group of my good mates, who happen to be Sandler, Scheider, Rock and Spade. My husband continues to repeat the Grandma's quote 'We should get a dog!' at inappropriate moments and I know he liked this film too. (He's a bit more choosy with his entertainment as well)

Biggest waste of big name talent since Dogma. Lame, lazy, laughable (and not in a good way). Worst movie of Sandler's career, probably one of the worst "comedies" ever.

This was a fun film with just the right amount of emotion. Bringing together such a great collection of comedians really worked here and the fact that they are all friends off-screen really shines through onto the screen.
