Grown-ups, starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, is a comedy about five friends and former team-mates who reunite years later to honor the passing of their childhood basketball coach. With their wives (Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph) and kids in tow, they spend the Fourth of July holiday weekend together at the lake house where they celebrated their championship years earlier. Picking up where they left off, they discover why growing older doesn't mean growing up.

Slightly better than Funny People, it's one of Sandler's misses - i didn't find it particularly funny or entertaining except for the water park scenes.

Should have listened to the warning about the tooth fairy..... If you have one that still believed in the tooth fairy, then you might want to sensor this one.
Great movie though. Whole family enjoyed it

If you are not a fan of mindless family movies that remind you of your family, you won't enjoy this. If you are not a fan of Adam Sandler, David Spade is in it too and he makes up for it.

While Grown Ups had a few moments of hilarity I felt like the movie was very much like the Barenaked Ladies song 'It's All Been Done'. That being said if you are looking for a movie where you do not have to think too much then this is the movie for you.

Not a big fan of Adam Sandler movies and this did nothing to change my views, in fact it just emphasised them. It was supposed to be a comedy but the plot, dialogue and jokes were quite mundane. There was one moment that sticks in my mind as epitomising how dull the film was. There is a 4year old child in it who is still being breast-fed. At a water park the kid demands breast milk. The mother is not available and the dad wants him to drink ordinary milk. There is a massive potential for comedy and laughs from the situation. All that happens is the dad says, "Go on, try this milk." The kid says, "I don't want to" The dad says, "Go on". The kid says, "Oh alright", tries it and says, "Actually, it's quite nice". End of scene. I rest my case. When there are supposed to be laughs it's as if the characters are saying, "Hey everybody, look at me, I'm about to do something that the rest of the characters are going to find funny", like speak in a funny voice. Maybe an 8 year old would like it.

Poor, save yourself from wasting your expectations and time on this. It was garbage. Pathetic effort. I notice some people liked it. I am truly bewildered and wish they wouldn't build the hopes of others up with positive comments. Trust the bad comments team. Laugh until you cry? No. Just poke your own eyes out for something more enjoyable than this.

Another Sandler flop... perhaps it is time ol' Ads gave up film making. The jokes in this film may be appealing to six year olds. Sandler looks like he is going through the motions in this comedy. Although the movie has all the 'big names' from the earlier Sandler films, it lacks the same quality laughs. The actors in this film appear as though they are past their comedy use by date.

Thank God we didn't pay good money to see this one while it was showing in cinemas. We didn't find it funny at all, just stupid and bit offensive. 90% of acting was pretty lame too. But that is Happy Madison trademark. We were hoping this movie will be another one of their creations that would be exception and would be actually good enough to watch more than once, like Wedding Singer or 50 First Dates, but we had difficulty to finish watching it at all.

Like most of the other reviews for this movie recommends DO NOT think this is a family friendly movie there is far too much adult content and one lines, if you are a fan of David Spade, Adam Sandler, Rod Schneider you will enjoy this movie it is their usual kind of adult comedy. It does have some very funny moments and surprisingly a really nce ending, the guys will like this one too as there is lots of girls in bikins and short shorts! ! !

There were some really funny parts in this movie, but overall it was very average. I managed to watch the whole way through, but was pretty bored by the end. Didn't mind Adam Sandler and normally don't like him. I thought it was pretty inappropriate for children, but too immature for adults.

This is DEFINITELY NOT a family or kids movie. We borrowed this to watch with our 8 year old and ended up turning it off because there is so much inappropriate content for children. Even for us as adults, there was so much unnecessary (and stupid) innuendo or behaviour that was just wrong. Being Adam Sandler, of course there is funny stuff but the rubbish far outweighs any of that. If you're looking for a family flick, look elsewhere!
